Bummis Review & Giveaway

Below is a little about Bummis, as taken from their "About Us" section

Bummis began as the proverbial “kitchen table business”, started by 3 mothers who were using cloth diapers on their own babies and were inspired to create the products they themselves needed. That was way back in the 1980’s. It remained a home business until it grew too large to fit into any home! Since then, Bummis has grown and prospered while staying true to the vision that inspired its inception and the values that fueled its growth.

We believe that once parents see how easy it is to use cloth diapers, they will use them! So we focus on making it easy – through the products we design and distribute, the washing and using information we disseminate and the customer service we are so passionate about.

We also believe that the bottom line is not only about money and profit – but that it is also about the well being of our company and the people who work in it, our suppliers, our clients, and our community - both our local community and our industry. We believe that the way we do business matters, and that business can be an important vehicle for social change.

When I first started cloth diapering, I thought pocket diapers were the way to go! They seemed simple and there is such a variety out there, I was sold! I did a review with a company several months ago that sent me a pre-fold and I fell in love, so when I found Bummis I knew I had to try their diapers and see what their pre-folds were like as well!

I was sent the Bummis Beautiful Basics Kit, as well as a Super Brite cover in size MEDIUM to review, but the Bummis Beautiful Basics Kit is what's up for grabs for whoever wins.

I am in love with Bummis pre-folds!!! Simple as that!

I've grown more and more attached to pre-folds for multiple reasons, and the main one is because they hold for a lot longer than a regular pocket diaper. When my husband takes the girls with him somewhere, it's hard telling how long they'll REALLY be gone and in the past he's been gone for too long, resulting in a soaked tush and an upset daddy that the diaper leaked. Now, when I know they're going somewhere, or even if we all go, she is in a pre-fold, and I'm a lot less conscious about the thoughts of possible leakage if I don't get to a full diaper in time. Because they hold so much, pre-folds are ALMOST our only option for night time diapers anymore, and since there are three pre-folds in this set, it works great because I have the cover from the basics set, the super brite cover, and a Zookies cover, that fits well together!

My husband also LOVES Bummis because they're velcro. At the time we switched to cloth, I wanted all snaps because McKenzie was at the age of taking velcro disposable diapers off, but Bummis also changed MY mind about velcro. Sometimes snaps are just too much and if you're in a hurry, or in my husband's case, refuse to learn snaps, velcro is the more sensible way to go, so I will for sure be slowly building a velcro stash for my husband to use!

McKenzie is 26 lbs and I know this will fit for a while!

Bummis Beautiful Basics Kit comes in two sizes,
infant 8-15lbs and baby 15-30lbs,
and three color options, boy-girl-unisex.

For $21 you can't beat a better deal than this kit!
It's three changes in one and we all know you can't buy three pre-fold diapers for that price!
