Our Year in Pictures for 2012

Last year I did a post called "Our Year in Pictures for 2011" and highlighted one picture from each month. I was able to pick some great highlights for 2011 because it was a crazy and exciting year for us! 2012 however, is harder. We had our beautiful baby girl Macyn and the girls turned another year older, but aside from that, not much happened this year.

Below are some pictures of our year vs one from each month!

Hope you enjoy!!!

Lakeon's Pregnancy Journal: Week 24

Follow Me on Pinterest

Doctor Appointments:
Dec. 20-- Going into my appointment I had the FLU. :( So I had to wear a mask the entire time. All they did was check my weight and talk to me about how I've been feeling. They also checked baby's heartbeat which they always have a hard time finding. After 20 minutes of Brantley kicking the monitor away from my tummy, we finally got a BPM of 166.

Jan. 21-- NEXT APPOINTMENT (I take the glucose test)

Food cravings: Tomato sandwiches, chips & dip and ice cream.

Symptoms: Brantley is a very busy little boy and he's mostly active late at night. Anytime I lay my arm on my belly, he's determined to kick it away. My breast are producing a great amount of colostrum now. I've been feeling really tired this week but I still have bursts of energy where I go into super nesting mode.

Weight gain: I've gained 16 pounds so far.

(before pregnancy while standing up, it was 32 inches)
(while lying down)Below the navel- 39.5 inches.
(while lying down)Above the navel- 36 inches.

Sleep: A body pillow has become my best friend. It's so much easier to sleep with a pillow under my tummy and between my legs. I still get up at least once a night to use the restroom.

Chloe's thoughts: Chloe seems like she'll be very protective and maybe a little jealous. She actually told my mom that the baby can't come to her house because he needs to stay at our house, But she also said that my mom can come visit our house to see him.  I'm trying to remind Chloe that the things we are buying for baby, she once had those when she was a baby too. I even try to get her a little gift when we bring in new things for Brantley's room so she won't feel like he's getting tons of new toys and she doesn't get anything.

Lakeon's Pregnancy Journal: Week 22

Follow Me on Pinterest

Doctor Appointments:

Food cravings: Cherry-limeade. Dr. Pepper. Salt & Vinegar chips.

Symptoms: Finally, my tummy moves all over the place when Brantley moves now. It's so fun to watch. Also, when I lay on my back, It's very painful and takes me a while to get up since he is on top of my sciatic nerve. It's a little hard to breathe when I'm sitting on the couch and I've had some slight pinching in my cervix along with some very sensitive breasts this week.

Weight gain: (If my scale is correct) I've gained 12 pounds so far.

Measurements: (while lying down)
(before pregnancy while standing up, it was 32)
Below the navel- 38.5 inches.
Above the navel- 35.5 inches.

Sleep: I get up one to two times during the night to use the bathroom. I can't sleep flat on my back anymore because it's painful. Besides Chloe waking me up during the night, I sleep alright as long as I lay on my sides.

Chloe's thoughts: Chloe seems very happy about a little brother now. She likes picking out toys for him at the store.

Intelligender Review {Sponsor Spotlight} #HoppinHoliday

IntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test is an affordable, simple-to-use urine test that provides immediate gender results in the privacy and comfort of the home. In minutes, the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test indicates your gender result based upon an easy to read color match.  Green indicates boy and orange indicates girl! As early as 10 weeks into your pregnancy (8 weeks post- conception)! Most women find out the sex of their baby at their 20-week sonogram as long as Baby chooses to cooperate. IntelliGender bridges the curiosity gap between conception and sonogram.

Before taking the test, make sure to read over ALL of the instructions inside of the box to get the most accurate result. The IntelliGender Prediction Test claims to be 90% accurate if all steps are followed correctly. An orange to yellow result means girl while a green result means boy.

I took the Intelligender test at 10 weeks and 1day into my pregnancy. Using my first morning urine, I collected the amount of urine needed into the syringe included in the box and slowly dispensed it into the hole on top of the cup as the instructions said. I swirled the mixture in a circular motion for 10 seconds and placed the cup on a white piece of paper. After waiting the 5 minutes, I came back to see...
a BOY result! We were so excited and couldn't wait until my ultrasound at 19 weeks so see if Intelligender had worked. After a long 9 week wait, we had an ultrasound done and found out we were having a baby...

Lakeon's Pregnancy Journal: Week 20 & Gender Reveal

Doctor Appointments:
Nov. 27-- We had our gender ultrasound and confirmed that we are having... A BOY!! Exactly what we all hoped for. Brantley weighs in at 11 ounces so far. All of his limbs and organs look great. He was super active and doing flips while we were trying to find out his gender. Heartbeat was 143 this time, so it slowed down A LOT compared to the last heartbeats which were 175 and 163.

Food cravings: Cherry-limeade. Dr. Pepper. Salt & Vinegar chips.

Symptoms: Brantley moves so much now, especially after 12 midnight. That must mean he will be a night owl like his sister and I. Oh no!!

Weight gain: I haven't gained or lost anything since my last appointment. So far I've gained 9 pounds for this pregnancy.

Measurements: (while lying down)
Below the navel- 36.5 inches.
Above the navel- 34 inches.

Chloe's thoughts: Chloe is very excited that she's having a brother. She can't wait until "brantwee" gets here so she can play with him. She's been practicing being a big sister with her baby doll. I must say, she does a pretty great job!

Smush Tush Diapers {Sponsor Spotlight} #fluffyxmas

Smush Tush Cloth Diapers is an Etsy shop ran by a mother that makes diapers and covers!

Isn't this cupcake diaper ADORABLE? I've followed Smush Tush and had my eye on this diaper for months, so I was excited to get to work together for this event!

All Smush Tush Diapers have PUL waterproof fabric and minky lining the inside. The diapers come in aplix or snaps and fit average of 10lbs to potty training. The legs and pockets are triple stitched to guarantee long wear and tear and she takes the time to reinforce the snaps to also ensure durability.

While at times there isn't a lot on her Etsy page, you can see her "Sold Diapers" album on Facebook which shows a big variety of what is offered at different points in time.

Cupcake Covers Review {Sponsor Spotlight} #fluffyxmas

About Cupcake Covers from their FB page:
My name is Shannon. Cupcake Covers carries a variety of Eco Friend Products. We started back in to 2011 shortly after my first daughter was born. I began making nursing covers and sold a few here and there to local friends and family member’s. It wasn't until recently (May 2012) that I decided that I wanted to do more with Cupcake Covers. I wanted to take it more seriously and products items on a larger scale-- However I knew I couldn't do that with just "nursing covers."

While Cupcake Covers offers a variety of products, I knew I wanted to try her cloth wipes because they can be used in so many different ways.

Cloth wipes are a favorite around here for sure. I have others and they've been used with cloth diapers as baby wipes, another set used for wiping off hands and faces after meals, and now this set I decided to use with bathing baby Macyn.

Zookiescrafts {Sponsor Spotlight} #FluffyXmas

About Michele as told on her Etsy page:
I am a stay-at-home mom of two little Zooks. I was an elementary school teacher prior to having children and knew that I wanted to stay home with them for a bit. What I didn't know was how much I would love being at home, so I was searching for something that I could do in my comfy pj's. We used cloth diapers, so the idea to make my own was developed. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, sewing ( especially searching for fabric), and playing with a local community band.

Zookiescrafts has expanded a lot since we first worked together almost a year ago. I reviewed a One Size Cover for McKenzie in January and I was hooked! At the time McKenzie needed covers and prefolds for night time so I was interested in working together in hopes of finding great covers that would last and do their job correctly so she would wake up dry in the morning!

Zookiescrafts website features many One Size and Fitted cloth diaper covers.  You can choose velcro or snaps, hip snaps, panels for the prefold to sit in, One Size or Fitted, and a huge selection of fabric that's always growing!

Extra small: 13" rise (7-10lbs)
Small: 15" rise (10-15lbs.)
Medium: 17" rise (15-25lbs.)
Large: 19" rise (25+lbs)
OS: 13-19" rise (10-35lbs.)

Smarti Pants {Sponsor Spotlight} #FluffyXmas

Smartipants was the vision of a mommy of four who was constantly looking for an economical, yet easy to use cloth diapering system. Jessica was also the inventor of the first ever one size fits all pocket diaper called Wonderoos.

Smarti Pants is a One Size Pocket Diaper that is suggested for babies 7-35lbs. They were the first diaper to have the insert come out in the wash, and many have since followed. Since it comes out in the wash, that means no dirty hands with the need to have to pull each insert out before washing can happen.

Formula Free Review & 15% Discount Code

Formula Free clothing celebrates breastfeeding and encourages the  promotion of breastfeeding.  Be proud to display the fact that your baby is Formula Free; it is an amazing accomplishment for any amount of time!

I'm proud to say that Macyn and I have been breastfeeding for almost 10 months (Dec 7) and I couldn't be more proud of us. Since Macyn is our third child I've learned and grown as a parent and knew whole heartily that I wanted to breastfeed for a long time.

Our first two children were briefly breastfed and I now have guilt about that. Doing research and having support in your rough times makes all the difference and I proudly wanted to show off that we can do something that's natural.

Formula Free is a fun website to to look around because they have so many cute items and good selections to choose from. No one should be ashamed to breastfeed and Formula Free has come up with a fun way to show the world how proud we are of our accomplishments!

12 Days of Gifts Galore Giveaway Hop #12DaysGifts

Welcome to 12 Days of Gifts Galore hosted by Tales from the Nursery and myself, Mama's Baby Cupcakes. We've teamed up with over 50 other blogs to help with gift ideas for Christmas! We hope you enjoy what all the blogs have to offer and good luck to all!

I'm offering a package from Tiny Love and their amazing baby products! I've worked with them multiple times and enjoy their great quality and fun toys!

These Gymini bouncers retail for $55 and are recommended for ages 0-12 months. The bars easily move to different positions and with the hanging toys, you're bound to have some fun. I reviewed this bouncer over the summer and I loved it!

These beauties are the Gymini Move and Play playmats. They retail for $75 and are recommended for ages 0-12 months. The bar is adjustable so you can move it lower to the floor to help with tummy time and then move it back up to the top for normal play. Once your child is older, the bars can unsnap and it can be used as a normal floor mat. I've also reviewed the Princess Play Mat and used it for months.

These cute little dogs are known as the Walk Along Fiona/Fred toys. They retail for $25 and are recommended for 6-18+ months. Since they're on wheels your baby can crawl behind as it barks and walks along. The accordion middle means you can flex them to even walk in a circle if you choose.

Winner's choice of pink or neutral items.
Open to US/CA
Retail Value: $155

Jack & Lily Shoes Review *Sponsor Spotlight*

Jack & Lily is a shoe company for babies and toddlers based in British Columbia. They're currently sold in 24 countries and carry sizes 0-30 months in shoes and boots.

When I saw these leopard boots, I fell in love and immediately emailed Jack & Lily about a review.  I decided to get the 6-12 months because I wanted them to fit all winter long, however I should have measured her tiny little feet because they're technically too big.

These boots are made of a handcrafted breathable leather, durable rubber sole, and faux fur lining. Velcro on each side of the ankles ensures you can easily get the foot in and out as well as a nice snug fit around the leg. I really like that this sole can be used outdoors as well as indoors because if she starts walking before she outgrows the boots then I don't have to worry about tearing them up from the outside elements.
