Review Item

I wrote in the search of a cute outfit for baby Macyn. Having a baby that's to be born in the middle of February is a tough thing because you never know what the weather will be like, especially living in Indiana! I've been hesitant on purchasing clothes for her because I don't want to buy anything that's too warm and then it not get used, so I chose this outfit because it looked light weight even though its long sleeves and pants.

Once this outfit arrived in the mail, I was even happier to see it in person because I was right! It's light weight, yet I know she'll stay warm if it's a chilly day. I think this outfit is perfect! It's a 0-3 months so I have confidence that she'll still be able to wear this adorable outfit in April and be comfortable! This outfit also goes up to a 4T so you can match if you have more than one little girl

Macyn still has another 3 weeks until her arrival, but I'm happy to say that I will host another review and giveaway with after she arrives, and it will be a apart of the upcoming baby event.

I chose to talk about this company during the Cloth Diaper Celebration event because this whole month has been about newborns, and products to get ready when cloth diapering a new baby, and I thought it would be nice to add this giveaway as a finale to the event, and give everyone a chance to win a $25 gift card for the little bundle of joy in your lives! offers such a variety at affordable prices! Most of their items have a very wide variety of sizes if you see something you just LOVE, chances are it's in the size you want from newborn to 4T! Not only do they have adorable outfits, but they also range from casual to formal, as well as personalized items, birthday, and other holidays. You can also get headbands, shoes, diaper covers, blankets, and so much more!

Glow Bug Diapers Review & Giveaway 2/5

From the About Us section of Glow Bug

Glow Bug Cloth Diapers story begins with our babies. Long before the company existed, there were two Moms who found friendship during pre-natal yoga class. Neta and I became close friends through the course of our pregnancies. We were thrilled when my daughter Amelia was born only weeks after Neta’s daughter Ela in 2007. We both discovered and enjoyed using cloth diapers on our girls.

After the birth of Neta’s son Edder and my daughter Gloria in 2010, we were both looking for new cloth diapers. Neta and I had the same concerns with the available brands. All we wanted were good quality, affordable cloth diapers but we were really frustrated that the product we were looking for did not seem to exist. What better solution to our dilemma than to start our own company that would sell amazing quality cloth diapers at a great price?

P.S. If you are wondering why we called the company Glow Bug Cloth Diapers, there are two reasons. First of all, “Glow Bug” is my nickname for Gloria and second, because I always thought a baby in cloth diapers looks like a cute little bug with that sweet round bum.

I was excited to try Glow Bug cloth diapers, because I love knowing what all is out there and that is why our stash is so diverse. When I went to their site one day and noticed the cupcake diaper, I knew I just had to have it so I was thrilled when Glow Bug agreed to a review and giveaway, and after their shipment came in, my diaper arrived!

I don't like to compare to other brands but I just can't help it this time. This diaper is almost exactly like a GoGreen Champ pocket diaper. They have ALMOST all the same features and work in the same way.

I really like the diaper, except a couple things. There's pockets at both ends, but the tag says to unsnap and remove insert, leg gussets aren't very big so in theory they would still hold in little baby explosions but I feel better seeing a nice thick leg gusset to ensure the mess is contained, and there's only one set of snaps. Since my daughter is petite, most diapers have to have hip snaps otherwise she gets horrible wings droop and while the Glow Bug diaper only has the one set of snaps, I'm happy to say it stays on her well but if I could change this and add the extra hip snaps, I would!

Glow Bug Diapers are sold in sets of 12 as boy, girl, or neutral sets for $150 Canadian money. This is a great price for these diapers, especially since they all come with two inserts! I do wish they had the option to buy single diapers because there are some prints I would love to have without buying 12.
  • Each set of 12 diapers are packaged in a free wet bag!!!
  • Two sets of cross-over snaps through the waist band for a perfect fit around newborn tummies
  • Double rows of snaps with square tabs for a trim fit through the hip
  • Four size settings fitting babies from birth through potty training (7lbs-35lbs)
  • Coordinating coloured snaps for every print
  • Waterproof flaps in the front and the back of each diaper to prevent leaks
  • Double gusset through the leg for an extra barrier of protection
  • NEW SlimDry fabric keeps baby’s skin dry without the bulk
  • Two openings in the pocket makes it easier to get the absorbent insert in and out
  • Snap-in inserts to keep it in place while baby’s on the move

It's been 8 years....

Its crazy to think that I'm 23 years old and I've been with my significant other for EIGHT years!

We met in a very unconventional way when I was 15 and he was 18. Now obviously as teenagers, you don't expect a relationship to last long term, and Chris and I even talked about how we weren't looking for anything serious, but it only took two weeks for us to fall in love with each other and the rest is history!

We've had ups and downs along the way, like every relationship does, but we've always pulled through stronger than before!

I wish there were more pictures of us from when we first started dating, but in 2004, not just everyone had digital cameras and when he bought me a cellphone I thought I was so lucky! LOL

The following pictures are a small glimpse in the last eight years of our lives, and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else. I feel like my purpose in life is to be the mother of HIS children, and I'm lucky he's blessed me with three little girls who I wouldn't trade for the world! He works hard to provide for our family and I'm so blessed to have him in my life.

Zookies Review & Giveaway 2/2

About Michele as told on her Etsy page:
I am a stay-at-home mom of two little Zooks. I was an elementary school teacher prior to having children and knew that I wanted to stay home with them for a bit. What I didn't know was how much I would love being at home, so I was searching for something that I could do in my comfy pj's. We used cloth diapers, so the idea to make my own was developed. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, sewing ( especially searching for fabric), and playing with a local community band.

The inner layer of the cover is waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate)
and the outer layer is a 100% cotton

When I first discovered Zookies, I was new in the prefold and cover world. I had one prefold diaper and I was amazed by the absorbency, so I knew I had to have a Zookies cover! She offers the most amazing prints and I wish I could have them all! When I wrote Michele, I let her choose between the Jungle Babies in Pink print and the Cuppycake print because I honestly couldn't choose myself.

I was sent the Jungle Babies in Pink in a One Size with snaps.

This cover fits so well!! I love that its stretchy but firm, and hugs in all the right places. I do wish the tabs were a bit longer but I think that's a personal preference. There's no wing droop or sagging involved and it truly holds its shape until the next diaper change. They're also super soft and she can customize just about any way you'd like!

In the pictures above, I have a Bummis prefold and its bulky, so I prefer a Thirsties prefold instead. Holds just as well, but so much more trim!

With this cover being a One Size, it looks like it can get pretty small, and within the next month I'll be able to test out just how small it can fit when we welcome the new baby.

Michele is quite a busy woman! She not only makes diaper covers, but when visiting her ZookieCrafts site, you can also find wetbags, burp cloths & bibs, minkee blankets, reusable sandwich bags, pacifier clips, memory games, handmade bar soap, her bargain bin, and even new baby gift sets.

Michele has a new product available, the Infant Try It Package.
  • This package includes one dozen unbleached Indian prefold diapers, two handmade Zookies diaper covers in size small, and one snappi.
  • Diaper covers: 15" rise (10-15lbs.)
  • Snappi - size 1
  • Prefolds are 4 X 8 X 4 and measure 12" X 16" before washing. Weight is 7-15lbs.
  • Retail value $48.99 or $64.99 if you add a 14" x 14" wet bag.

Michele offers variety, and that's a favorite of mine for her site. You can choose velcro or snaps, hip snaps, panels for the prefold to sit in, One Size or Fitted, and a huge selection of fabric that's always growing!

Extra small: 13" rise (7-10lbs)
Small: 15" rise (10-15lbs.)
Medium: 17" rise (15-25lbs.)
Large: 19" rise (25+lbs)
OS: 13-19" rise (10-35lbs.)

I highly recommend checking out Zookies and seeing what all she has to offer. I know I'll buy from her in the future and I haven't had any problems with the covers I own. Great product for great money!

You can find her on Facebook, Twitter, Etsy, or her website

36 Weeks Pregnancy Update

I haven't updated since 28 weeks so bare with me, this MIGHT be a little long

I started having Braxton Hix contractions at 29 weeks. I had huge anxiety about it because of everything else with this pregnancy but I've realized that this is my third child, I'm going to feel things much sooner, and my body is going to react differently to each pregnancy. I can get them to go away if I chug a bunch of water so I'm trying to drink more water to make them not come around at all!

I am also gaining weight now. I went 15 weeks without gaining weight and then FINALLY I weighed in at my 33 week appt and had gained THREE LBS IN THREE WEEKS! Now I was so excited and then it hit me, that's kind of a lot!! Baby had a huge growth spurt so you can tell she's filling out quite nicely. My last appt was at 35 weeks and I gained 1lb so we're moving along nicely now.

My husband and I think this is my biggest belly out of the three pregnancies. With Madison, I gained 24 lbs and had a healthy baby at 7.5lbs. McKenzie's pregnancy was a lot different at only gaining 12 lbs and her weighing 6.8lbs. It's weird how big I feel my belly is this time around because I don't get big by nature. I'm lucky that I'm not one of those women that gain 50+ lbs because I don't know how my body could handle that and more power to the women that can gain all that weight but have the baby and immediately shrink back down! Our body's as women are amazing!

I had reservations at looking for cribs but we finally went to Babies R Us. With tax returns coming next month, that is when we'll buy her crib, so I was afraid to fall in love with something, go back in a month to buy it, and it be gone, but luckily the crib we happened to love the most is new and the lady said it should be around for a while.

Sometimes I wonder if I should've picked the crib and then picked the bedding because I have reservations about it now. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. I bought it back in September because the whole package deal was only like $80 and crib bedding is BEYOND INSANE when it comes to price. Maybe once it's all put together I'll like it better? In Babies R Us, Chris and Madison both loved the lavender heart bedding that was in the display crib so I could at least see the crib with the heart theme, but I'm not sure about the color scheme anymore =/ Our girls rooms have an accent wall painted that their beds sit on and I still am not sure about Macyn's room. Originally I thought yellow because we already have a pink room and a purple room, but yellow just isn't sitting with me very well now that we have such a "fancy" looking crib. I'm thinking maybe a pale pink from the bedding? Her room is princess theme so the bed fits in even better since the bed is named "Delta Princess"

Since we're in our own home, this is the first baby we get to pre-purchase and decorate for, so I'm anxious to get it done, but nervous at the same time. I don't know why I'm so nervous, it's not like Macyn will have an opinion LOL!

At 35.1 weeks, I did have a couple hours of Braxton Hix contractions that at one point were five minutes apart, so I hope I make it to at least 38 weeks because people are joking she's coming early.

My husband is also out of town for a week about ten hours away so I really hope with as much water as I've been drinking she stays put!

I won't keep you any longer, but within the next 4 weeks, we'll get to meet our latest bundle of joy!! I'm scared to be a mother to three kids, and nervous at how Madison and McKenzie will react since they're 4 and 2, but stressing over the unknown is pointless. I hope its an easy transition for us all though!

GoGreen Diapers Adapt A Snap & Wet/Dry Bag Review & Giveaway 1/29

Launched in late 2010, GoGreen Diapers is a young and energetic company seeking to transform the world of cloth diapering through innovative, scientifically developed product designs. Founders of the company, Leah Leverich Ph.D and her husband Don Cooper Ph.D are proud -make that frazzled- parents to 3 young boys. Their oldest boys, Channing and Jaxson, were born while Leah was completing her graduate work towards a doctorate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where Don was Assistant Professor. After Leah completed her doctorate, the family relocated to beautiful Boulder, Colorado to continue their careers at the University of Colorado. Shortly after moving to Boulder, Don and Leah welcomed their third son, Caleb. With three young children in diapers, living in one of the “greenest” communities on earth, it became clear that disposable diapers were no longer going to cut it – financially, nor in terms of environmental impact. Don and Leah eagerly embarked on their cloth-diapering journey and quickly became fluff-addicted parents themselves. But like so many other cloth-diapering families, they had a difficult time stomaching the hefty start-up cost of commercially available cloth diapers. They also incorporated a number of novel design improvements into their affordable designs. Using experience from their years in science, Don and Leah addressed these problems head-on in the Champ™ cloth diaper with Dual Gussets™ Technology and their exclusive Adapt-a-Snap™ diaper closure conversion system. GoGreen Diapers was born!

The first-ever diaper closure conversion system!
Converts the snap closure on Champ™ diapers to a hook/loop closure

My husband's ideal cloth diaper would be a fitted AIO with velcro. He likes the thought of saving money by using cloth, but hates all the snaps so he loves how convenient disposables truly were even though switching to cloth was a good decision for us.

Since we'll soon have another baby in the household, and our first to be in cloth diapers as a newborn, I noticed myself thinking more and more about velcro diapers, and how much we actually need some in our stash so my husband will help once we have TWO in cloth.

One day it dawned on me... email Leah about the Adapt-A-Snap!!

Most diapers retail for around $15, so the thought of buying a whole stash just of velcro diapers was really too much to think about. The Adapt-A-Snap on the other hand retails for around $17 for a 3 pack. That's saving a ton of money if you really think about it! It's like buying three new diapers for the price of one, and you can't beat a deal like this!

I was beyond excited when Leah agreed to work with me again and try out this some what new feature they came up with.

easily snaps on diaper

One unique thing about the Champ diapers from GoGreen is that many have multi colored snaps, which can make it easy to say "Honey, fasten on the blue snaps!" But they've now made the Champ more unique with the Adapt-A-Snap. We will soon have a order arriving for some new Champ diapers courtesy of my father as a baby present, so I will be ordering a couple packs of Adapt-A-Snaps to have to make diaper changing easier for everyone.

While I love the idea of the Adapt-A-Snap, I don't find it "ideal" to have just one like I do so I think it's good that they're only sold in a 3 pack set. You can pre-stuff your diaper, snap on the Adapt-A-Snap, and everything is ready to go for whoever changes that next diaper. I know that this will be a huge life saver for after the baby is born because I'll be switching McKenzie to mainly Champ diapers only so it's going to help me out having the velcro on hand.

Many times I've thought that GoGreen Diapers should offer velcro so people have more variety, so I strongly suggest trying out the Champs if you haven't already, and grabbing a 3 pack of snaps to go along with them if you prefer velcro.

  • Two zippered, moisture-proof PUL compartments - one for clean, dry diapers and one for wet, used diapers
  • Handle for hanging or carrying
  • Hidden zippers
  • Holds 8 diapers + inserts
  • 12"x14"

When I first started entering giveaways, I won a wet/dry bag from GoGreen diapers and I was thrilled. We had such a small stash at first, that I would use this to house most of my diapers until I was ready to wash. Now a days, our poor wet bag sits in a drawer unless we go somewhere that will require a diaper change. I know that once the baby arrives, our wet/dry bag will start getting plenty more use since babies need changed more than toddlers.

I love this bag! It has the convenient elastic strap so you can put it on things such as the stroller while at the mall, or easily on your wrist while heading to the public bathroom at a restaurant.

Having the second, smaller pocket in front is a great place to store wipes, or other little accessories that you might need while out, but still having full use of the big pocket to hold the dirty diapers.

These wet/dry bags from GoGreen diapers are a great investment at $8.99!

Introducing the Thirsties AIO diaper!

I am so happy to announce that Thirsties just released their Duo All In One cloth diaper!!

I am VERY happy to say that I received a review AIO in the mail and can't wait to start using it!

Just like their other diapers, the Duo All In One diaper comes in sizes 1 and 2, your choice of velcro or snaps, and is also available in the colors and prints we already know and love.

My favorite feature about this diaper is that while its an AIO, when you look inside, it's basically an insert sewn on the diaper. This is an AMAZING feature in my eyes because it means that water and stuff can get inbetween the insert and the diaper which will allow for a quicker dry time. It's so trim just to look at and I am going to convince my husband that the new baby will need some of these diapers!

I never really thought of it until I saw someone say it, but velcro is great for about the first 9 months. You have a newborn baby and those 3am changes would be so much nicer with velcro, while switching to to snaps later on when they figure out velcro is so easy to take off! This is where their two sizes come in handy.

These diapers retail for $15.95/solids and $16.95/prints. I think this is a great price but would love it even more if they offered a true One Size diaper.

I have already thought of buying a stash in size 1 and then selling to purchase a size 2 stash when the time comes.

Since we have such a variety of diapers in our stash, I want to sell a bunch of pockets I have and only be left with a few different brands that I really love and Thirsties is definitely one of those brands!

Get on Thirsties website, take a look around, and then find a retailer that sells Thirsties products!
I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Zoobies Pets Review & Giveaway 1/31

Zoobies, LLC was created by two young brothers who shared the interest in creating something fun and innovative. They came from a family of nine, so they saw the need to consolidate items, especially if going on long trips, just to make things easier.

My girls love carrying blankies around and they also sleep with a couple of their favorite stuffed animals, so I figured Zoobies Pets would be a perfect fit!

Out of 22 Blanket Pets to choose from, Madison was very adamant about wanting Hada the Hippo. I think she chose the hippo for the shade of pink!

  • Microbead stuffed head for ultimate squishability™
  • Large, super-soft coral fleece blanket zipped inside: 44" x 34"
  • L: 17.7" x W: 6.7" x H:9.1"
  • 100% polyester (additional materials)
  • Washing-Blanket: Machine wash, tumble dry. Blanket zips off for easy washing.
  • Washing-Outer pouch: Spot wash (if machine washed, using a laundry bag designed for delicates is recommended).
  • Two bottom hook-and-loop Velcro tabs gather Blanket Pet™ into animal shape.
  • Recommended for ages 3 and up, but safely tested for all ages.

Madison patiently awaited the arrival of the UPS man each day until it finally arrived! She was BEYOND thrilled and loved it from the moment I opened the box. She now carries it around with her during the day around the house, and lounges with it while watching TV. Hada the Hippo is also incredibly soft, with a great, bright color. While Madison prefers it to stay all bundled up, the blanket is huge, and plenty big enough to keep her warm if she chooses.

Zoobies Pets not only offers the Blanket Pets, but also Slumber Pets, which is an oversized stuffed animal with a blanket and pillow inside, Storytime Pals, which is some of our kids favorite story characters, and even Blankie Babies, which is a miniture version of the Blanket Pet and ideal for ages 0-2 years old because it offers a smaller blanket for the little bundles of joy in our life!

Zoobies Pets retail for different prices depending on the item, but since I'm highlighting the Blanket Pets, I'll tell you they retail for $35. I think would make great gifts for kids of all ages, good companions while on long car rides, and even great for little holidays like Valentine's Day or Easter, as well as great for Christmas!

Eco Sprout Detergent Review & Giveaway 1/26

The following is from the "About Us" Section

Eco Sprout was started by a WAHD, that's right... a Work-at-home-dad who was looking for a cloth diaper detergent that was great for not just cloth diapers, but for the entire family's laundry.

Frustrated by trying various detergents over and over, nothing ever seemed to kick the ammonia smell, both on the diapers and in the pail! All the usual remedies were tried, baking soda, vinegar, special products made just for the ammonia, pail name it! It just got to be overwhelming. There had to be a way to just use one product and simplify the washing process.

Once that thought entered his head...the research began. It wasn't easy, he wanted something that was environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and 100% natural. But it had to work! It had to CLEAN the diapers too. After months of trial and research he finally did it! Came up with the perfect balance that resulted in clean diapers, derived from natural ingredients, 100% bio-degradable, and kicked the ammonia smell!

Samples were sent out, family and friends began to use the product and the word got out. Soon thereafter, Eco Sprout was born!

I was having the exact same issue that the dad from Eco Sprout was having, horrible ammonia smells no matter what I did or tried! It just seemed to be getting worse until I finally gave up a certain detergent and went to Tide powder. I have been using Tide for several months now and it worked but in the back of my head, I didn't real right using it because I wanted something specially made for cloth diapers.

I had heard of Eco Sprout multiple times, and even entered some giveaways for the heck of it because I was skeptical of trying numerous detergents trying to find what worked best for us. Finally, I emailed Eco Sprout and they happily agreed to a review and sent me their amazing scent of Warm Vanilla Sugar.

I was so excited once it got here and couldn't wait to do the recommended prep and soak to see what Eco Sprout was all about. I did not know that it's ideal to soak your diapers when changing detergents! Click HERE to find their full wash instructions as well as how they recommend to soak.

I did two loads, back to back nights, and followed the directions to the T, and hoped for the best! The scent of the Vanilla was amazing and for the first week or so that's all you could smell in our laundry room when you walked in! This is also the first time I got to see my whole stash laid out and stuffed and it was quite beautiful!

I could tell a difference as soon as I pulled the first load out of the dryer. With my original detergent I would hold my breath during this time because the whole dryer would smell like ammonia even though I know they were clean so I was happy to see that after only one soak there was a difference in how they felt and smelled. You know you truly love cloth when you put a stack up to your nose and take a big whiff!

We have had no issues with irritation on McKenzie's sensitive skin, and I feel that this is truly our detergent for diapers from now on! They have the faintest smell of ammonia sometimes but I see that more in her night time only diapers but I've also learned that stripping once a month or two is also a great way to keep your diapers up to par and be the best they can be.

Another fabulous thing about Eco Sprout... THEIR PRICES!

Eco Sprout offers 8 different scents, with one being seasonal, and another being unscented.
There's also multiple sizes to choose from which are as follows:
2 oz @ $1.75,
24 oz @ $7.98,
48 oz @ $13.98,
96 oz  @ $24.98.

They even offer sample packs if you want all the scents which is $13.76

I very much look forward to trying their different scents and will probably buy the sample pack set when I go to purchase some more soon!

Be sure to also check out the other ladies participating in this Newborn Diaper Event. Their blogs are linked in the form below and have great things to offer!
