Daddy Scrubs Review & Giveaway 3/2

DaddyScrubs™ is the offspring of Robert Nickell, who fathered his first four children more than 20 years ago. DaddyScrubs™ was conceived when Robert, who remarried in 2007, discovered he was about to be a father all over again in the fall of 2009!

Not wanting to endure the pains of wearing uncomfortable street clothes while comforting his laboring wife, Robert hatched the idea of creating doctor-like scrubs for himself. It seemed a natural thing for him to do — since Robert is a pharmacist by profession.

To eliminate the confusion between “who’s the doctor” and “who’s the daddy,” Robert fashioned the concept of “I’m The Daddy™” medical scrubs.

My husband was hesitant to wear these scrubs becaue he assumed they'd be stiff, scratchy, and uncomfortable. Most dads can easily get bored and uncomfortable waiting on labor to progress and he wanted to be comfortable while waiting and he didn't think  scrubs would be the answer.

Based off their size chart, we got a 2X. The shirt is a little tight for his personal taste and the pants are a little too big but luckily have a draw string in the waist. His biggest issue with the scrubs is that to him, the shirt gets very hot. He had to take it off because he was way too hot and we think part of that is because it's tight on him. The shirt isn't really stretchy since its scrubs so he said it was a little hard to get on.

He has worn the pants around the house for lounge clothes and really enjoys them. I too am curious as to the comfort level and might just sneak them after they're washed again!

Since we were only at the hospital for two hours before Macyn was born, I don't feel like he got a good review so I'm glad he wears them around the house so he can see what they're like on for several hours instead of a short period of time.

You can purchase the Scrubs on their website for $44.95
They also carry other items such as boxers, t-shirts, baseball caps and more!
Check back in the coming weeks for a review and giveaway for a gift basket!

Pretty Pushers Review & Giveaway 2/28

Our labor gowns are one-size-fits-most, composed of 100% cotton stretch jersey. The slip-on halter neck and diagonal cut garment is not only flattering but makes sense…there are openings which provide access for fetal monitors, the epidural, and other IVs if needed.

If you’re going to bring your own gown, be prepared to throw it away! The hospital staff won’t wash it for you, and what else will you do with a soiled gown…save it in a bag for 36 hours and take it home to wash? Not a chance! As a matter of fact, we feel that it is better for the environment to throw a bit of cotton into the ground than to add to the millions of gallons of hot water and harsh chemicals used on hospital laundry every day. This is exactly why our gowns are made with no trim, unfinished edges, and the fewest seams possible…to aid in the disposability factor.

I received the gown pictured above, in black, for this review.

I will start off by saying that this particular gown comes in three colors black, pink, or white. They also offer three prints and an organic, natural, unbleached gown.

I was intrigued with these gowns because I always assumed that hospital gowns were the ONLY way to go and it was as simple as that. After all, theyre provided for you at the hospital, so the convience factor is obviously there.

Pretty Pushers whole intention is for you to wear their gowns, be cute, enjoy yourself in the moment of bringing life in to this world, as well as being COMFORTABLE.

I love that this gown has the low cut back which is ideal for epidurals. With my first two pregnancies I did have an epidural each time and you have to have your gown completely open with your bottom hanging out so they have access to your whole spine, and the gown is great at keeping you covered but also allowing them to do their job. I am happy to say that since I had a natural birth this time, I had no need to test out the low cut back but I'm confident that if I did have an epidural there would've been no issues.

The front allows for the heart monitors and contraction monitors to go, but again, keeping you covered at the same time. All hospitals are huge on monitoring everything so while you are in labor, you can have the luxury of keeping yourself covered while you have visitors, but the hospital gets their way of making sure everything is being tracked on the screen.

This gown is very light weight and breezy feeling. I like how light it is because you can change so quickly during labor with being hot, cold, moving positions, rolling from one side to another, and this gown allows you to be covered while feeling like you're wearing nothing at all (in my opinion)

Pretty Pushers Gowns come in two sizes One Size (2-16) and then Plus Size.
One Size retails for $24 while the Plus Size is $28.
The three prints come in One Size for $28.
Organic gown retails for $44 and is a One Size.

There is a convient "Store Locator" tab on their website so you can see where they're sold, some even in stores, or where you can buy online.

Belly Charms Review & Giveaway 2/29

Following information is from Belly Charms Facebook "INFO" Section

Belly Charms LLC is known for maternity / pregnancy belly button rings, personalized Swarovski mother's bracelets, maternity pendants and custom jewelry. I started Belly Charms after my second son was born. I love custom orders too.

Belly Charms started on Etsy in Dec. 2007 with 10 maternity belly button rings. I now have over 600 items available in a variety of categories on my websites: maternity belly button rings, holiday belly button rings, mother's bracelets, safety ID wristbands and sport ID products by Vital ID, maternity jewelry, peace and love collection, toe rings...the list grows as I keep adding more things.

I am a WAHM of 2 boys under the age of 5. Belly Charms is operated out of my home office. All of the maternity belly button rings and custom jewelry is made when ordered, personally by me. All orders are shipped ASAP and all orders over $20 ship for free in the US and Canada.

I had my eye on Belly Charms while we were trying to conceive because I knew that I wanted to try to keep my belly ring the whole pregnancy. When I was pregnant with our first daughter I took the peircing out after my body started rejecting it, and I never put it back in afterwards until one day when I realized it was still open several years later.

Once I found out I was pregnant, I immediately wrote Sonya, owner of Belly Charms, and expressed my interest in the product and she gladly agreed to a review and giveaway with me using the items my whole pregnancy before making my final opinion.

I was sent multiple maternity rings, as well as a standard size ring and I immediately put that in and was shocked at how much more comfortable a flexible maternial is instead of steel. I felt like I no longer had a ring in because I couldn't tell it was there and I knew right away I was going to love these products!

Sonya is amazing because not only does she hand make everything all while being a mother and wife, but she's quick to get back to you with any questions and concerns you may have, like when my body started to reject the standard belly ring around 13 weeks along. I emailed a picture, she quickly got back to me, and after changing to a maternity ring and babying the peircing for a couple days, I was back to normal.

13 weeks and 5 days pregnant

With her great selection of maternity rings to choose from, I was excited to see what the Swarovski Crystal Butterfly Maternity Belly Button Ring looked like in person because it is by far my favorite item of her's.

Available in 5 colors

I like to say Macyn got to dress up for Halloween because I bought one of Sonya's adorable Spider belly rings and while I took a little risk since it was a standard size steel bar, I was able to wear it comfortably and my belly looked cute.

24 weeks pregnant

Using these maternity rings my whole pregnancy, I can say that they honestly do their job. There were times when my peircing felt a little tight but that's to be expected and all I had to do was use some cream and everything was back to normal. I've had no real issues with these products and will continue to wear them as my primary jewelry and buy from Sonya in the future. I love the personal side of her and her business and you just can't get that anywhere else.

Not only does Belly Charms carry regular rings, but the maternity rings are great because you can cut them down to "normal" size and no one would ever know. I think they're a tad hard to cut but that could also be the scissors I used LOL.

I've recommended Belly Charms and I know she ended up buying so I am now here to encourage you to take a look around and potentially buy something because then you'll get to see for yourself what a great company Belly Charms is.

Don't have your belly peirced? NO PROBLEM!
Sonya also offers toe rings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets, and earrings!

She also offers a one year replacement if you have loose stones, stripped balls, or anything else that could possibly happen. One of the stones in my butterfly fell out and I was immediately sent a brand new butterfly charm and it looked just as great as the first one I received!

You can find Belly Charms on Etsy and Artfire and of course Facebook!

Dr Sears Stretchmark Cream Review & Giveaway 2/21

From the "About Us" of their website

In the Sears family, we've made healthy children our life's mission. After raising eight children and practicing pediatric medicine for more than 30 years, we have answered questions from thousands of parents. Millions more have sought our advice through our 40+ pediatric books, articles in parenting magazines, and our appearances on more than 100 television programs such as 20/20, Donahue, Good Morning America, Oprah, CBS This Morning, CNN, NBC's Today Show and Dateline.

As pediatricians working with children and parents around the world, we know it can be challenging to find healthy snacks that taste great and fit in with busy schedules. We are concerned about the increase in empty calories, sugars, and processed foods we see in children's diets, and the growing prevalence of childhood obesity, diabetes, and other nutrition-related disorders. The key to good health is good eating, and we'd like to help make it easier through our snacks, beverages and supplements.

We also know that it can be challenging to find baby care products without harmful chemicals or allergens... products you can feel safe using to care for your infant. That's why we've developed a 100% all natural baby care line that we believe in.

Dr. Sears Family Essentials’ Stretch Mark Cream is a luxurious, 100 percent all-natural cream that reduces the appearance of stretch marks or scarring associated with pregnancy, while enhancing the skin’s natural beauty and elasticity. Made with only pure ingredients, Dr. Sears Family Essentials’ Stretch Mark Cream is designed without harmful chemicals, protecting pregnant mothers and their unborn babies from dangerous toxins that can be absorbed through the skin.

I have a PR contact that wrote to me and offered up a review of the Dr Sears Stretch Mark Cream. I was excited to try another stretch mark cream because I find products like this intriguing. I believe that there is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks BUT there are things you can do to minimize the amount, like making sure your skin is nice and moisturized.

As soon as I got this item, I instantly wanted to try it and so did my girls. They love rubbing stuff on my belly and patting and talking to the baby so I let them. It came out of the can kind of like tooth paste but rubs on so smoothly. My favorite thing about this cream is you can rub it in completely (like lotion) and then they're good to go. Unfortunately it does NOT smell very good. The first time I put it on around my husband he gagged a little bit and asked me to pull my shirt down.

Overall this is a great cream and it even helped with my belly ring because there were times it felt a little tight and one day when the girls were rubbing this on my belly, Madison went right over the top of my belly ring and then the skin felt so much better and it didn't feel tight anymore! I love putting this cream on after a shower because that is when my skin is affected the most and although you can use the cream multiple times a day, I only use it after showers and it feels great.

I did not start using this cream until I was 8 months along so while I cannot vouch for using it from the beginning of pregnancy and on, I will say that even if you're in the third trimester like I was, its worth the purchase!

This Dr Sears Stretch Mark Cream retails for $19.99 on their website.

Motherlove Review & Giveaway 2/21

A paragraph from the "About Us" section of their website

As the first herbal personal care and supplement line specifically designed for pregnant and breastfeeding women, Motherlove has led the holistic body care industry since its conception in 1990. Our dedication to consistent quality means crafting only the finest, purest products, and using certified organic ingredients designed to nurture, soothe and heal women on their all-important journey of nurturing life. Each of our formulas are time proven and backed with integrity, wisdom and an intimate knowledge of herbal remedies.
Creating the purest products of the finest quality, Motherlove Herbal Company is dedicated to using certified organic ingredients for a holistic way to soothe, pamper and enrich the pregnant or breastfeeding body. Certified cruelty free and without the use of preservatives, artificial fragrances and petroleum-based additives (such as mineral oil) found in most body care products, Motherlove products instill confidence and peace of mind as you nurture yourself and the life within.

Used to soothe the discomforts of pregnancy and breastfeeding, and pamper the body, our products are also safe and gentle on baby's skin. Motherlove products have been proven so effective they have earned the trust and continued support of lactation consultants, midwives, healthcare practitioners and mothers everywhere.

I wrote Motherlove with a great interest in their Belly Salve because early on, around 10 weeks, my belly was already getting itchy and some what dry, so I knew I wanted something besides normal lotion to try to cure this problem.

Once the product arrived, it was instant relief and I was extremely satisfied. I didn't use very much so it soaked in to my skin right away and I was able to have my shirt over my belly without sticking to my skin or leaving a greasy feeling. After a couple applications however, I slowly used more and more just to see what would happen and I was a little disappointed that if you use a lot, it does not soak in like I hoped. At one point I sat with my shirt up for 30 minutes before giving up and wiping it off.

Motherlove suggests using this cream on your breasts, belly, and thighs to help moisturize skin and prevent stretchmarks and I think that it definitely had something to do with me not getting any stretchmarks this time. I guess I kept my belly moist enough to where my skin stretched fine and left no big obvious marks. They also recommend morning, afternoon, and evening applications of this cream and I think that's a great idea. Solving the issue of using too much at once, apply small amounts but multiple times a day and your skin will feel and look great!

Pregnant Belly Salve retails for $17.95 for 4 oz and it's enough to get you through the whole pregnancy, depending on just how much you use each time!

Motherlove has generously offered the winner to choose between the Pregnant Belly Salve or a jar of Green Salve so here's a little information on it.

This all natural versatile salve quickly and effectively takes the itch out of insect bites, bee stings and poison ivy. It soothes and eases the discomforts of rashes, chapped, and irritated skin. A must for every home!
Motherlove’s green salve has a zero rating (zero toxins) on EWG’s skin deep database and is made with 100% certified organic ingredients.
Apply to affected area several times daily to help relieve itch, rash, or chapped and irritated skin. Retail Value is $8.95 for a 1 oz jar

IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test Review & Giveaway 2/19

Small part of the About Us section on their site

Welcome to Intelligender! We have revolutionized baby gender discovery with the world’s first in-home, urine based Gender Prediction Test™. IntelliGender was founded in 2006 and has over 500,000 satisfied customers worldwide. At the core of our success is our goal of providing high quality, fun, affordable pre-birth experiences for the expectant mother and healthy essentials for mom and baby.

The Intelligender product line continues to expand, now including more exciting products for Mom and baby. Our new IntelliCeuticals™ products are made of proven remedies, herbal extracts, and flower essences all formulated to promote physical, emotional or psychological health and restore balance in the body. They are safe, effective, and designed to bring you relief from the stresses of pregnancy and early motherhood.

I first heard about IntelliGender during my second pregnancy, however we already knew she was a little girl so of course no need to test.

While trying to conceive our third child, I started entering giveaways for the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test and eventually won! Great timing too because I found out soon after that we indeed were expecting!

IntelliGender's Gender Prediction Test™ is a simple urine analysis similar to the pregnancy test you took a few weeks ago. It uses first morning urine and a proprietary mix of chemicals which reacts with a combination of hormones to indicate the gender of your baby. It can be performed as early as 10 weeks of pregnancy (six weeks from the first day of the missed period). It is an easy test to perform and provides quick results in-home so the news can be shared right away.

You simply collect first morning urine and insert into the test vessel. Swirl rapidly in a circular motion, place the test on a flat white surface undisturbed for minutes. Below are examples of test results:

I could not wait to take this test and I was very nervous at the same time because something told me it would show a boy result. Being our third child and already having two little girls, I desperately wanted a little boy and after a boy result for the "Cabbage Test" I was anxious to see what IntelliGender was going to offer.

That indeed is about as clear of a boy result as you can get! Then the wait was on for 8 more weeks until my ultrasound to find out if IntelliGender was correct but unfortunately it was not.

I know some people that have multiple children and its been correct each time, and others that it's been wrong. I do want to stress that it is for fun and you have an obvious 50/50 shot at it being right but it does sting a little to know it was wrong.

I'd also like to add that if you do ANYTHING wrong, you WILL get a boy result because it's the "default" result. I read the instructions over and over to try to make sure I didn't mess up and still got the boy result. It's also recommended not to have intercourse 48 hours before you take the test as that too can affect the results.

All in all, yes, it was fun to take and wait for the results, but like they say DON'T PAINT YOUR NURSERY PINK OR BLUE BASED OFF THESE RESULTS!

You can purchase the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test directly from their website for a current sale price of $27.99+free shipping, or in stores such CVS, Walgreens, Babies R Us, and more for around $35

Three Lollies Review & Giveaway 2/17

About Three Lollies (borrowed from their website)

"Casual name, great product!" It's a good thing that we have a sense of humor! Yes, many people believe that our products named "Preggie Pops" & "Queasy Pops" could not possibly come from a serious background. Believe it or not, "Preggie Pops" & "Queasy Pops" were conceived and developed by health care professionals! In our line of work, we are daily witnesses to how debilitating nausea can be. We also came to realize that not every nausea remedy works for every person or situation, and that many people would prefer not to take a prescription if they can avoid it. We found that a lot of our patients wanted something "natural".

With all that in mind, we did some research into natural pharmacologic agents, reading through the available literature (both scientific and non-scientific), talking to numerous other health care professionals from a number of disciplines, and most importantly, talking directly to nausea sufferers. Many patients were willing to share their favorite home remedies, and through time and research, we were able to determine which ones really work. We discovered which herbs are truly helpful, and developed flavors that would be appealing to anyone with a queasy stomach.

As healthcare professionals, we have dedicated our life's work to helping people in need. Our friends in the field have welcomed our natural products as an alternative therapy for their patients, and the feedback has been great! From traditional practitioners to the holistic and wellness communities, there seems to be a universal market for a flavorful and simple remedy that makes life a little easier during nauseous times. We are thrilled to offer our customers a tasty way to ease their nausea and help them through difficult times.

With my first pregnancy, I felt GREAT! Never really got sick, had a full time job, and if it weren't for the baby bump, I would forget sometimes I was pregnant. My second pregnancy was the EXACT OPPOSITE! I was sick all the time my first trimester, and Madison was only a year old at the time so it was very difficult to balance the two.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant this time, I contacted Three Lollies with the interest in trying their products. I had no idea what this pregnancy would be like and I wanted to prepare myself for the worst! They immediately said yes, and I was sent a variety pack of their Preggie Pops and their Sour Fruit Variety Pack of Preggie Pop Drops

I'm lucky that I haven't gotten sick but there were times I was sure I would. Once they did arrive however, in my opinion they worked! I'll be honest and say that I'm not a fan of the flavors of the drops EXCEPT LEMON. It's such an amazing flavor and that hint of sour gives it a great kick! The other flavors weren't quite what I expected and I wish they had the option to buy only one flavor because I would for sure buy huge packs of Lemon.

I'm not a huge fan of the suckers like I thought I might be just because I can't hide them from my girls. I did however, have INSTANT relief from my nausea. My easy solution is just to bite off parts of the sucker and suck on that, problem solved! I have been able to use these items my whole pregnancy with relief each time. There was a couple occasions that I had to constantly have one for relief but it's an amazing feeling to have something work instantly and so readily available.

Overall, I would recommend this product, as they're only $3.95 for the Pops and $5.50 for the Drops. I especially think the drops are worth the money because it's very hard to explain to toddlers how I can't share my "suckers", where as the drops are discrete.

Three Lollies also has a variety of products, including organic.
