Our girls went to Disney On Ice!

Last year Madison went to the "Dare To Dream" show with my mother in law. I was about 5 months pregnant and Chris was out of state so I'm glad she could still go. She loved it and so when I heard about "Worlds Of Fantasy" coming to town, we knew it was a must!

My husband is on call every other weekend with his job so when we saw it was January 26 we immediately looked at the calendar to discover he would be on call. This meant we couldn't go as a family and I didn't think Macyn would do well at this show anyway so we were stuck. They'd seen commercials and Madison kept asking about it and if we could go so I felt stuck.

One day while I was talking with my sister on the phone, I mentioned the show and how we didn't really have any options and she volunteered herself and her boyfriend Greg to take the girls to help us out and be able to spend some time with them.

We kept the adventure a secret until the night before and they were very excited to go. They had a great time, loved spending time with my sister and her boyfriend, and we all want this to turn in to a some what normal thing. My sister is the closest person to me and I love that she wants to be so involved in my children's lives.

After the show, they went to my mom's house to visit and then back to my sister's to have a sleep over and watch Tangled since its Madison's favorite movie and my sister's never seen it

Here are a few pictures ! Sad that they couldn't get pictures of the performance but the lights glared too bad to even take the time to post.

Lakeon's Pregnancy Journal: Week 28

Follow Me on Pinterest

Doctor Appointments:
Jan. 21--  Took my glucose test and actually enjoyed drinking the drink they gave me. Hopefully I'll get results back this week.

Food cravings:  Cookie and cream milkshake. Chips with ranch dip. Fried pickles.

Symptoms: Everything has been great these couple of weeks. I've had some braxton hicks contractions. My tummy feels really heavy when I'm walking and when I sit down, sometimes I get bad cramps in my cervix and ribs.

Weight gain: I've gained 24 pounds.

(before pregnancy while standing up, it was 32 inches)
(while lying down)Below the navel- 40 inches.
(while lying down)Above the navel- 38.5 inches.

I still sleep great. I have a little trouble shifting from my back to my side but that's all. Brantley still wakes up and moves around for an hour or so right as I lay down for bed.

What I've been up to the past 2 weeks: I've been nesting so much still. I want everything to be perfect when I bring him home for the first time. His room is still a work in progress so when we get everything settled, I'll be posting pictures of his nursery. We recently went and bought new living room furniture and hoping to have a new dining table in the next few months.

Chloe's Thoughts: Chloe kisses my tummy every night before bed. She's finally been saying "Brantwee" more than "baby" which is a plus! She's been helping me a lot when we organize Brantley's room AND she even said they are going to be best friends. :)

Talkin' Tattoos Tuesday

I thought I'd take this week to explain what Talkin' Tattoos Tuesday will be about, why I wanted to start doing it, and how you can interact with me!

I'm twenty-four yrs old and I have seven tattoos. My first tattoo was ten years ago when I was fourteen. We had a long time family friend that is in the tattoo industry, and this is how my tattoo journey started. He did five of my seven tattoos, and after screwing me over on one, we no longer talk. (More on that in the coming weeks...)

Each Tuesday I'll introduce you to one tattoo, the meaning behind it, why I got it, and obviously a picture of the finished product. Some tattoos need redone, and some I wish I'd waited to do, but they're a part of me and I love them for that reason.

I See Me!: The World According to Me Book Review

Thank you I See Me! for the diaper to help with this review

I See Me! opened for business in May of 2000, after a year of active product development. My husband Allan and I received a personalized book as a gift for our first son in 1998. While we loved the fact that it was personalized, we thought that the illustrations could have been much better and the story more customized to the child. Thus I See Me! was born.

With Madison turning five, I knew a book like this would be a perfect way to help go back in the future and remember how she was at this precious, young age. To me the age of five is a milestone! The time when your child is learning to count, draw, write their name, and have a real opinion.

I was really excited when I See Me! books let me do a review with this book and the process behind how it all works so I hope you enjoy it!

This book is a hard back with 20 pages inside. Each page you turn will be filled with your child's drawings and questions of their views of the world, their future, and their life.

Your child will be asked to draw a self portrait, family portrait, what they look like as a super hero, their favorite toy to play with and more.

My favorite question in the book was asking Madison how many people were in the world and what she would do to help. She said 100,000 people, hehe. Could you imagine?!

#snugbug giveaway hop event! 1/29

Welcome to the Snug as a Bug Giveaway Hop, hosted by the Blogging Mamas Network.  With the cooler weather coming strong, I’ve joined with over 30 other bloggers to bring you great products to keep your baby snug as a bug!

Each blogger participating has a great Baby/Toddler Prize Package for you to win, worth at least $25, so after you enter mine, be sure to hop around to all the others!  Don’t forget to enter to win the GREAT GRAND PRIZE for the Event as well!

The Pecking Order has been a huge hit on the blog and in our home. I first worked with Erin a year ago when I reviewed shirts for the girls to wear when we had Macyn. Since then, we've celebrated other holidays with these amazing shirts and have some for next month in honor of Valentine's Day and Macyn's 1st birthday!

Erin makes all shirts in her home's basement and has fast shipping. The details are truly a part of the shirt vs an iron on printed off the computer. Because of this, they last and stand up to wear and tear from children and the normal messes they can get in to, but also allows an easy clean in the washer/dryer with no real special instructions besides turning the shirt inside out.

I really appreciate that you can give an idea to Erin and she runs with it to make a custom design. Madison's birthday party was Candyland themed and she came up with her sweet and simple shirt with some lollipops, gumdrops, and a cupcake. I find it even more special because its now available for purchase on the website!!

All I had to do when ordering Macyn's 1st birthday shirt was to send the link of her party decorations and she again came up with a great shirt very fitting for her theme of zebra and pink leopard prints!

The Pecking Order has an abundance of shirts available for just about every occasion you can think of, as well as pregnancy announcement shirts for moms or siblings, shirts for dads, and items for grandparents. She now carries leg warmers, hats, and socks, Toddler pillowcases, Tooth Fairy Pillows, and even dog t-shirts!

I'm so happy that The Pecking Order has allowed me offer a gift card worth $35 to their store! I promise you will find so much to fall in love with and you'll become addicted to the items like I am!

Open to US Only Please

According to Jenny, So Easy Being Green, and the Snug as a Bug participating bloggers are not responsible for sponsors who do not fulfill prize obligations.

Lakeon's Pregnancy Journal: Week 26

Follow Me on Pinterest

Doctor Appointments:
Jan. 21-- NEXT APPOINTMENT (I take the glucose test)

Food cravings:  No real craving these weeks, also not loving Dr. Pepper as much as I did.

Symptoms:  Belly is getting in the way for sure. Bending over to put my shoes on is getting difficult to do. I'm still able to shave my legs though, so that's a plus! Every now and then I feel pressure in my tummy when I've been walking too much. I get out of breath and thirsty doing my grocery shopping.

Weight gain: If my scale is correct, I've gained 17 pounds.

(before pregnancy while standing up, it was 32 inches)
(while lying down)Below the navel- 41 inches.
(while lying down)Above the navel- 38 inches.

Sleep: I've been sleeping just fine besidesmy daughter, Chloe, waking me up 2 to 3 times per night. I'm not able to sleep on my tummy at all now which is hard. Brantley still is a night owl, sleeping all day and kicking all night. One morning he even got hiccups for the first time.

What I've been up to the past 2 weeks: I've been in full nesting mode trying to get Brantley's room all ready for his arrival in 14 weeks. I hit up all the local thrift stores once a month to stock up on baby clothes and items. Do we have any other mamas that go thrift shopping? Comment below and tell me about the places you go and things you love to find.

If you follow me on pinterest, you've probably noticed all the pinning of baby clothes I've been doing. (If you don't follow me, click the button at the top to see everything I hope to get for baby!)

We bought his bedding last week and It looks so great in his room. (I'll include a picture of it at the bottom) My husband has halfway agreed to letting me paint Brantley's room! I'm thinking 2 walls gray and 2 walls red. Also, I want to paint Chloe's room the same way but with pink instead of red.

New Year, New (Blog) Start

If you're a longer follower (possibly even from the beginning) then you've seen my ups and downs with blogging. It's hard to keep up with a blog (for me) and everything that comes with it. I was doing good over the summer and trying to really build numbers by doing those group giveaways for kindle's and such but realized it wasn't worth it. My Facebook likes went up a lot and I was happy but then would notice a big dip of unlikes after the event would be over so I decided to stop doing them. When you ask people to like 50+ Facebook pages for a chance at a $100 prize, it just gets to be too much. After I stopped working with this particular blogger group I lost over 100 Facebook followers. I was shocked and yet not too surprised because that's what people do unfortunately.

The past couple months have been a huge whirlwind for me. Madison goes to Pre-K five days a week, Macyn was behind developmentally, and my husband got hurt on the job. On top of planning a birthday party and every day life, I just had no energy to worry about the blog. I found myself taking way too long to post reviews and at one time had too many to remember which ones needed to be posted.

With this new year, I want to start over. Try to post about normal life and events that happen to me and my family. I stopped posting about these things because no one comments and therefore I got no feedback as to if it was liked or not on the blog. After talking to some of my loyal followers on Facebook I discovered that stuff like this is read and appreciated even if there are no comments and so my goal is to get back to normal posts and share my life with my readers like I intended.

My goal with the blog when I downsized at the end of the Summer was to have one giveaway posted a week but that's just not possible at this point in time. My goal will be to have one giveaway per MONTH unless I sign up for giveaway hop events.

Giveaway hop events are important to me because it builds my Unique Views as well as gets some new faces to the blog to see what I'm all about. I think you all enjoy them as well and I like offering fresh blogs for you to "hop" through as much as I like their fans to come by.

I'm sure you've noticed Lakeon on the blog as well. I've known her for about 4 years over the internet and even though we've never met, I consider her a friend. She currently has a pregnancy journal up and will help with maternity reviews as they come since Macyn is no longer a little baby and my husband doesn't want anymore children. While Lakeon doesn't post often, I hope you all enjoy when she does and learn to love her and her family like I do!

I know this post was long but I hope you all read it and can understand where I'm coming from. I had thoughts of closing the blog completely but I know I'd quickly miss it and I'd rather stick around and see where the new year takes us!
