Shabby Apple "Helena" Dress Review

When Shabby Apple contacted me I figured this would be a great opportunity to get a jump start on some new Spring/Summer clothes. I found a maxi dress that I really wanted but it wasn't on the list of items to choose from, so my next choice was "Helena" as seen in the photo above. I thought this dress would be a good fit because its light pink, looked like it would flow well, and is cute enough to wear on a date night or a family trip to the grocery store. 

I really liked the idea of the ruched top because its something I've never really had and I like how it looks on the model above. I never wear heels but I like the simpleness of this dress and that I could throw a pair of flip flops on and just go! 

When the dress arrived I fell in love. It's such a soft dress and light weight which makes it even better. When I put it on I liked how effortless it is to walk around in, how good the ruched top feels against my skin, and the over all look of the dress in person. 

However, I have yet to wear this dress in public. While it looks amazing on the model, it doesn't do so great with my figure. I'm a bigger girl and I've had three kids in 5 years which means my tummy isn't the prettiest site or flat for that matter. It hugs in all the right places EXCEPT my belly. There is no way I'd feel comfortable wearing this in public with my figure and nothing underneath. It's a tad see through so a slit would be a must in my opinion. I've wondered for a while about adding some body shapers or Spanx to my collection to help with my tummy and that will make this dress fit correctly.
