Talkin' Tattoos Tuesday week 10

Welcome to week 10 of Talkin' Tattoos Tuesday! I did an intro post where I explained my goal in posting these every week and how you can submit your photo to be featured. Check out the post if you need to refresh your memory. Since I've went through all my tattoos, now I'll be sharing photos I've found online, and the occasional viewer submission when they come in.

I'm very pro-tattoos (I have 8 myself) so I love hearing stories about other people's ink.  I wanted to share a couple of mine with you.  While they all have meaning and stories behind them, these two mean the most to me.

The first one is my dad's initials over my heart.  It's very abstract and most people don't know what it is when they see it.  My dad passed away when I was 3 so I never really knew him, but my grandma would always tell me stories about him and I wanted something that would be a memorial to him.  My ex best friend (we're no longer friends, but that's a whole different story, lol) drew it up for me and as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect.  I got it done in 2007 and it could probably use some touch-up but I love it and it means a lot to me.

The second one, and most recent work I've had done, is both of my daughters' foot prints.  I had wanted to get one after my first daughter was born and just never had the time or money, but then I got pregnant with my second daughter so I had to put any tattoos on hold until she was born.  I figured then I could just get both feet at once.  Each print is from the day they were born and has their birthday with it.  These little girls are my life and this tattoo is a way to remember how small they once were.  My youngest is 14 months and already her foot is so much bigger than the one on my leg.  It's amazing how quickly they grow!  I've got room on my calf for one more foot print just in case ;)

Thank you Sandra for your great submission! I love the idea of using one foot print per child. It makes a set of prints, but each one is different.

And Sandra... My daughter was born 5-9-07 and my son 12-28-2011... how weird? Our firsts are 3 years apart, but both are very close in months/day!
