Gymboree Review & "Off To School We Go" Grand Prize Sponsor

Thank you Gymboree for the $100 gift card to help with this review

Gymboree has been dressing children since 1986. The brand's fashionable clothing and accessories are designed and crafted to withstand rugged play while letting kids be kids in outfits they love to wear. Gymboree currently operates more than 600 stores in the U.S. and Canada, as well as an online store.

A new school year means a new wardrobe for the kiddos! Since Madison will be entering Kindergarten this year, this means she'll be in school all day long. While this a big change for us all, I knew this meant expanding her outfits a little more than I've done in the past with Pre-K since she only went 2 1/2hrs a day.

Madison starts school a lot earlier than other districts and so while I was hoping I'd find some great back to school clothes, a lot of the Gymboree website was clearance on summer items. As they slowly release newer fashions and things more appropriate for school, I took the time to look around and found a couple things I liked and decided to use the Gift Card for the items you see above.

When I clicked on the outfits section, the image above known as Sunshine Plaid, popped up. I was drawn immediately to the capris because I've been wanting to get Madison a pair so I decided to go ahead and get the shirt as well! Since Indiana weather can be so up and down, capris are a great alternative to that in-between weather we'll get in a few months.

How cute are these Glitter Laceless Sneakers?! These are currently an online only shoe, but shoes like this are a big hit in our house. While Madison needs to learn how to tie shoes, we stick with this fashion and velcro shoes still when it comes to sneakers. I got these shoes at 25% off and love that they're a cotton canvas. Madison's favorite color is pink and the glitter is just a plus for her!

Since the jeans were buy 1 get 1 50% off, I couldn't pass up getting these Bow Pocket Boot Cut Jeans along with the capris above. While Madison wouldn't wear these until the Fall, I absolutely LOVE the bows you can see. Madison is so girly and feminine, these are 1000% her style. These jeans will still be able to go with just about anything she chooses and still look cute.

I decided to add two pair of the zebra panties because I was about $4 away from another $25 worth of Gymbucks! I think the girls will like them since they're out of the "norm" for what we normally buy, and they were at a great discount!

We've never purchased from Gymboree so I ordered the sizes Madison wears from another children's store and waited for them to arrive in the mail and compare their fit to the other store.

Madison will be 6yrs old in October so I got the shirt and pants in a 6 and she could easily still fit in the 5. I went ahead and got the capris in a 5 because they're for now vs the Fall time like the pants, and I knew that they would fit her great. The capris do seem to be a little baggy, but with a couple prep washes and adjusting the waist, I think they'll be a great fit for her and last until the Fall weather hits us in a few months and then McKenzie could possibly even wear them next Spring!

I got Madison's shoes in a size 13, knowing they would fit come this Fall if not quite now, but I think with a thick pair of socks they'll work just fine and be comfortable for her to wear. I really love tennis shoes with these feature and not needing to be tied because she'll be at school all day and unless they get double knotted, I'm sure she'd be asking her teacher to tie her shoes all day OR she'd just walk around getting the strings dirty from leaving them untied.

While Gymboree's prices are a shock to my system, I can also understand why. Their clothing seems to be of better quality which means it will last longer and handle more wear and tear that a child can put on clothes. I truly believe in the saying "you get what you pay for" and I think this is fitting for Gymboree.

Gymboree has so generously offered one winner a $100 Gift Certificate to their site/store.

I LOVE Gymboree. You're right that their prices can be a shock, but the quality is AMAZING.

I am so addicted to Gymboree! Can't go in the store without buying something. I've learned how to shop there though. I rarely pay more than about $6 an item. The clothes go on sale pretty quickly, and most parenting magazines have 20% off coupons that can be combined with all the in-store discounts except Gymbucks. Gymbucks are my fave discount and can be used on the sale items too! Awesome deals, and you are right about the quality. It does last! I highly recommend the socks and underwear too.
