Thursday, July 18, 2013 Dinosaur Train Costume Review

Thank you Halloween Adventure for the costume to help with this review

Halloween adventures is an online costume store that sells a wide variety of costumes from infant to adult size at a great price that won't break your bank! They also carry a selection of wigs, hats, pet costumes, accessories and more!

While searching around on the Halloween Adventures website, I wasn't sure which child I'd get a costume for. I clicked on the toddler costumes section and after searching around found the Dinosaur Train costume you see above. McKenzie is 4yrs old now and her 3rd birthday party was Dinosaur Train themed. She loves the show and her party was a huge hit. She's said for months now that she wanted to be a dinosaur this Halloween and when I saw the Buddy costume, I knew it was meant to be!

The website says you can choose from 2-3T or 4T for an in stock size so I went with 4T hoping it would fit come October. When I opened the package however, the label says 4-6 so I got excited that it would no doubt fit in the Fall.

This costume is a 4 piece set with a body suit, hat, and two pieces to go over the shoes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the body suit has an adorable tail attached to the rear. I didn't happen to see it in the stock photo because I was focused on the head attachment and McKenzie's concern with ensuring it was a two fingered dinosaur.

As you can see in the above pictures, this costume hits McKenzie right at the ankle, so I don't see how the size chart would be accurate without it being too short on a 6yr old. When her arms are down and she's relaxed, you can see her shirt around the shoulders, so I think more coverage in that area would be good. The body suit is a front zip up which is very convenient for potty breaks and overall accessibility for the child wearing the costume. Since its in the front, my daughter can dress herself and easily slip in and out of the costume with no real issues.

My only real concern with the costume right now is the head. Its very cute in person but is also very heavy with all the stuffing inside. Right now when she's relaxed you can see that it falls forward but I think come Halloween it'll fit better and then I can also use some pins to help with it, as well as putting her hair in a bun to help hold it up from the inside. This head piece fits Madison perfectly (5 1/2yrs) but she also said "Wow this thing is heavy!"

You can find this costume on the Halloween Adventures website for $35.99.
They offer a size chart to ensure the measurements and accurate sizing when you order.
This Dinosaur Train costume is made out of 100% Polyester. Spot clean only.

I love this costume and so does McKenzie. It fits her style and personality to a Tee and I can't wait to see her on Halloween walking around with her sisters having fun!

I can't believe Halloween is already only a few months away! I will be looking for costumes I can wear while pregnant.

She is just too cute! That's so bizarre that the legs and arms kind of fit shorter, but the head seems like it will be perfect in the Fall.. so weird. But I love the color and her excitement for it is contagious :)

It is weird that the costume runs a little small, because usually the opposite happens when I buy costumes for my kids, they always run big.

Anyway, I think the costume is adorable! :-)

Is it Halloween already! Gosh! Cannot believe how fast the time flies... Up until last year, I only had my son to take for trick or treat. Now, this year, I will have two- my daughter as well :) This costume looks so adorable. Thanks for the review :)
