talkin' tattoos tuesday: week 23

Welcome to week 23 of Talkin' Tattoos Tuesday! I did an intro post where I explained my goal in posting these every week and how you can submit your photo to be featured. Check out the post if you need to refresh your memory. Since I've went through all my tattoos, now I'll be sharing photos I've found online, and the occasional viewer submission when they come in.

Thought I'd change it up this week and talk about placement and how you can take a test run to see if you'll like it!

I took this picture last Fall when the girls and I were playing around with fake tattoos.

I kind of giggle to myself when I see temporary tattoos that I find cute and I wonder how they'd look as a real tattoo. Since I was getting close to my appt with my birds tattoo on my collar bone, I decided I'd place this temporary tattoo in its spot to see what it would be like with something in its place.

I like most of my tattoos to be able to be easily hidden if need be, so the closer I got to my appt, the more nervous I became as to if I would like it and if it was a good decision.

I wore this temporary tattoo around all day (in our home) and wore a tank so I'd see it often and I could some what adjust to it. With the size, I felt it was cute and dainty and would be a great fit so I went forward with my birds tattoo as planned.

Shortly after getting my birds tattoo I questioned the size and felt I'd made a huge mistake, but after a couple days of getting used to it, I'm happy I did it. After I have our 4th child I'll be adding another bird just so there's four to represent my children.

I pinned the above image on Pinterest because its a great way to decide if what you're getting is the right thing to do. If you click on on it, there's a tutorial about how to draw a rough sketch of what you want and then you simply place it where you're thinking of getting it inked and then you can see how you adjust to it.

While what I did was similar, it didn't prepare me for the size of the tattoo so I definitely think this will be something I do in the future. I've always wanted a half sleeve, but have been nervous if I could be a girl to "pull the look off" so it would be fun to play around and get a feel for how I'd look vs just going in blind and hoping for the best!
