Project Pomona Review

Thanks to Project Pomona for the pants to help with this review
Project Pomona is a company that designs shorts and pants specially designed for cloth diaper bums and gives you ease of use when your child wears cloth diapers. Meghan is the owner and designer of Project Pomona which started in Dec 2011 in her own home due to clothes not properly fitting her first born when she wore cloth. Sometimes even sizing up in pants can still be uncomfortable for babies to sit and crawl around in, so she started making her own pants for a great and comfortable fit for her daughter.

I've had the worst luck finding pants to fit over Brantley's fluffy cloth diaper butt. I was beginning to think he would have to forever wear sleepers and onesies. Thankfully, I found hope when I was told about Project Pomona! Finally, someone made jeans that fit the fluff butt babies! Pomona pants are made to fit every cloth diaper out there!

Sizes range to fit 3 months to 3T depending on fit and style of the pants.
There's 4 choices of denim available on the site, and dozens of accent fabric as well.
For a few dollars more you can also add embroidery patterns on the pockets like the butterfly you see above!

The wonderful maker of the Pomona pants, Meghan, sent me the Pirate Jeans along with the Airship Cruiser - Organic TeeI was so excited to receive these pants! Pomonas are amazing quality, lightweight and soft. They have a nice size bum that adjusts to the bulk of all types of diapers.  The hips also 'give,' eliminating any pulling or restriction of movement. With the adjustable waist snaps and longer fit time, each pair of Pomona pants is roughly three pair of store bought jeans or shorts.

-Trim Fit (slightly trimmer in leg than Regular Fit since denim has a 2% stretch; still fit perfectly over all cloth diapers)
- Features the revolutionary Simple Snap waist system.
- Multiple length options your little one gets ultimate growth flexibility in just one pant size!!
- Snaps make diaper changes fast and easy!
- Premium Slub Denim is 98% Cotton/2% Spandex- Medium Weight.

This was Brantley's first time wearing jeans that actually fit! He seemed very happy and comfortable in them. I must say, these jeans with the pirate accent cuff on the bottom makes him look rather handsome.

My favorite thing about these jeans are that they are only $29.95 and they grow with him as he grows so he will definitely get good wear out of them. As shown above, they can be rolled up and down to fit any height. These pants have a adjustable waist and hip panel and can unsnap on both sides to make sure you get a perfect fit. Low front rise gives extra comfort for baby bellies. Back rise gives ample room for all diaper types. Accent cuff options provide many inseams within each pair. Use this fit longer, need fewer pants.

Brantley is 4 months old and 16 pounds and these jeans are a size 2. Size 1 is the recommended size for babies aged 3-9 months but since Brantley is tall and has a bigger belly than most 4 month old babies, I went with a bigger option. I snapped the waist into the smallest size and rolled the bottom leg cuffs all the way up to the smallest size and they fit him perfectly.

Prices range from $25-$33 depending on short or pants and then more of a personalization with designing your own vs buying an in-stock option. Shipping starts at an amazing price of $4 and current turn around time is up to 7 business days.

You can purchase Project Pomona jeans, pants, tops, and onesies at ProjectPomona.

I like how the waist adjusts on these pants. It seems to be a little smoother than the buttons and elastic method.

I like the butterfly kisses pattern of Pomona pants.

I love the pirate one! I run into that problem a lot where the pants don't fit on my son!

Thank you for the review! I've been checking out PP pants for my little man's fluffy butt for a while now. Thankfully, he's lean, so regular pants do fit...he just has old man stomach in them ;)

I love how these are designed to be rolled up. They are more than I would usually pay for jeans but I can see that they will fit for so much longer. I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair for my 3 year old. She's out of diapers but she has a booty and her other jeans always gave her a plumber's crack!

Oh wow, I think I need these pants for my boy. He is so freaking huge that I keep buying new clothes every couple of months, and forget pants or shorts fitting for. Ore than a month with his big fluffy bum. Snap sides, what a great idea.

These would be perfect for my little guy. In order to get pants to fit over his bum we have to buy big and then they are constantly falling down and restricting his movement.

I think I would go with the khakis for boys. I love all of the prints, so it is too difficult to choose just one right now.

Those pirate pants are so adorable! I love how adjustable they are! It is hard picking just one! I like the cars printed jeans and the little animals printed jeans.

Wow! What a great idea! I like the adjustable waist snaps and the fact that these jeans can (should) be rolled - they seem like they will last longer than regular jeans. I love the little animals print!

I would choose Butterfly Kisses.

I really like that these pants grow with baby! My son has short legs (he's not short overall, but long bodied with short legs) so the size he should wear in regular baby clothes are too long in the leg and of course don't cover his bum. With the rollup cuff these would solve both problems. I think if I won I would choose the Fetch design, my son loves dogs.

I love the whole concept! I had actually given up on putting my cloth diapered kiddo in pants this summer. I love the whales print, the galactic rockstar (i think my daughter would actually make a fantastic galactic rockstar), and little animals.

I'll have to remember this company once my LO is born in November, especially since I plan to CD. My favorite pair so far is the Stretch 'Faded Black' Jeans.
