Dinosaur Train embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains while sparking an interest in life science, natural history, and paleontology.
First off, how cute is Buddy on this box cover?! Our 2nd child McKenzie loves Dinosaur Train and poses like Buddy is all the time for pictures.
Now, when I got the email for this DVD, I was thrilled. Like I mentioned, McKenzie is a big fan of Dinosaur Train and was even Buddy this past Halloween. As we get closer to Valentines Day, all the decorations at stores start to come out, and I recently started wondering about school parties for our girls and the need to get cards for her class mates. This DVD comes with cards, unfortunately there's only two inside. I was disappointed since my mind automatically thought several, but I guess they're for fun with kids in your home.
King Meets Crystal - During a day at Troodon Town Music Festival, the Pteranodon family and King Cryolophosaurus hear a wonderful singer named Crystal Cryolophosaurus. Tiny and Buddy help King overcome his nervousness, and he and Crystal end up friends who happily sing together. Don & LillyDon and new neighbor, Lily Lambeosaurus, stay at Pteranodon Terrace while the other kids take a day trip to the Big Pond. Don shows off his knowledge of the area to an admiring Lily.
Gilbert Visits The Nest - Shiny is nervous about Gilbert's impending visit to Pteranodon Terrace. When Gilbert arrives, everyone starts having fun except Shiny who feels ignored. Soon Gilbert and the other kids persuade Shiny to join them, and they all eat, play, and laugh together.
Erma and the Conductor - The Pteranodon family is on the Dinosaur Train headed to the Big Pond for a special nighttime treat - watching a meteor shower in the sky! Mr. Conductor stops to pick up Erma Eoraptor, his best friend. At the Big Pond, the Conductor and Erma are interrupted a few times while trying to be alone, but soon find the perfect spot to watch the meteor shower from.
Don's Collection - Don and new neighbor, Lily Lambeosaurus, stay at Pteranodon Terrace while the other kids take a day trip to the Big Pond. Don shows off his knowledge of the area to an admiring Lily as they search for more items for his collection.
I myself have come to love this great PBS show, so I was excited when it arrived in the mail. McKenzie watches Dinosaur Train on PBS almost daily, but with the DVDs, she can watch it whenever she wants and its always available.
My favorite episode on this DVD is by the first one, King Meets Crystal. I love the King character and think he's adorable, so seeing him have a crush was great. This DVD really flows well and I didn't feel like that much time passed from each episode. Before I knew it, we watched all four and it was over. McKenzie liked that there were several on the DVD since there's only one episode on at a time on PBS.
Want this DVD for your little one? It was just released January 14 to the public. It retails for a great price of $7.99 on the PBS website, and has a run time of just 50 minutes.
