PB Crave Peanut Butter Review

Thank you PB Crave for the items to help with this review
Curt was raised on traditional peanut butter –and hated it. Everything changed the moment he tried a delicious mix of peanut butter, raspberries and mouth-watering chocolate. In fact, he loved this new twist on an old classic so much, he created his own peanut butter company and after 40 years of avoiding peanut butter he is now eating it nearly everyday. Curt’s Peanut Butter Company soon developed four unique PB Crave flavors. The exciting new peanut butter is produced by Sweet Harvest Foods in Cannon Falls, MN — where we’ve focused on uncompromised quality, discriminating taste and unwavering integrity for nearly 100 years.

Peanut Butter is a big hit in our home. Our second daughter can be pretty picky when it comes to food, so peanut butter has been our "go to" when she doesn't want to eat normal dinners. She has some sensory issues and food is a touchy subject for her, but with peanut butter, she'll eat it every time. With her love of peanut butter, I wanted to test out PB Crave and be able to offer McKenzie, along with our other girls, some variety and a fun change with an easy food.

I received all four flavors a the beginning of February, and opened all the same day to try them all. I think I was more anxious than my girls were to actually try the different flavors and see what PB Crave is all about!

Being the chocolate lover that I am, Choco Choco was the first flavor I opened. It has small chocolate chips inside, and a faint flavor of honey mixed in. The flavors blended well, and the honey wasn't over powering like I thought it might be.

Next I wanted to try the Cookie Nookie because of the chocolate and cookie dough. I like to eat cookie dough even though some say its not wise, so the though of cookie dough peanut butter was very exciting for me. Again, this peanut butter tasted just as advertised with bits of chocolate chips, the cookie dough flavor, and then a last hint of honey.

I enjoy the occasional raspberry filled chocolates, so I assumed that's exactly what the Razzle Dazzle flavor would taste like. This time they have white chocolate chips inside, along with raspberry and honey flavoring. At first its really sweet and then the raspberry has a nice end kick to it. I can't eat too much of this at once because the raspberry starts to be too much, but that's just my personal taste buds. Our six yr old loves this flavor and eats it often, even though she never eats raspberry candy.

Last but not least is the CoCo Bananas flavor which contains honey, chocolate and banana flavoring. I was reserved in trying this flavor because I don't like banana candy (such as Runts) but this jar is my favorite! It reminds me of a regular peanut butter sandwich with a banana cut up and spread around on the bread. The nice thing about this though, is that you don't have banana pieces falling out, but still can enjoy that nice flavor.
Since PB Crave uses natural ingredients, this peanut butter is a bit more runnier than I'd like. I do appreciate that its not overly thick like normal peanut butter, but I tend to make a little mess when I'm making sandwiches for our kids. Every time you open the jar, you have to stir it because the natural oil from the peanuts and palm fruit oils separate from the ingredients over time. I think there's a good mix of chocolate chips in each jar as well. You can count on a small handful with each sandwich depending on how much peanut butter you use, but its not over powering in the jar or on your sandwich.  Since PB Crave features all natural ingredients, they align with Fit Pick nutritional requirements, which are based on joint criteria published by the American Heart Association, the 2005 USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation Guidelines for Competitive Foods.

There aren't a lot of ingredients in the PB Crave peanut butter, which is nice because the less the better in my opinion. We want our kids to be able to eat something they like, but also isn't full of ingredients that we can't pronounce, so from a mother's perspective, this is a big plus!

Whether its lunch, a snack, or dinner, you can use PB Crave anytime! Our girls each have a different favorite, and I'm really glad that they've taken so well to PB Crave. They asked to have it for dinner recently and I happily obliged.

You can connect with PB Crave on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and their website. While you can purchase online, they also offer a store locator so you can get in person at places such as Wal-Mart and Cost Plus World Market.
