Almondina Review/Giveaway! Ends 9/18

Thanks to Almondina Cookies for the 8 pack sampler to help with this review

Almondina® is the inspiring success story of a man whose great loves include both music and wonderful food. For generations his family loved his grandmother Dina’s most secret cookie, which she called Petit Gateau Sec. Yuval Zaliouk, an internationally known symphony conductor and gourmet chef, always had a special place in his heart (and stomach) for this exquisite, crispy wafer with the delicate flavor of roasted almonds and the natural sweetness of plump raisins. Long after his grandmother’s death, Zaliouk became aware that the remarkable characteristics of this addictively delicious but extremely nutritious cookie fell squarely in line with the growing demands of health-conscious buyers at the end of the century. Within seven years having started baking in his kitchen, the cookies, renamed Almondina® for his grandmother, were available in all fifty states, sought after in seven foreign countries, and had brought him recognition as Entrepreneur of the Year.

I'm all about finding healthy snack options that fill those bad habit cravings I get. Sometimes I just want something crunchy, something sweet, something delicious. The problem is that most of these cravings can usually only be filled with junk food. While junk food tastes good, it's harmful to our body. It has been hard for me to find a healthy snack that will satisfy those cravings... until now.

I received a sample package of Almondina cookies for a review and the package included all seven of the flavors listed below. Almondina brand biscuits are unique - a gourmet cookie, health food and snack, all in one. These extraordinary gourmet treats are created from a secret family recipe which has been passed down from generation to generation. Now you can enjoy Almondina just as Grandma Dina made in her own kitchen.

The Original - This is the cookie that made us famous and it is still our #1 bestseller. Based on Grandma Dina's original secret recipe that she called Petit Gateau Sec, we begin with top quality almonds, plump raisins, and a blend of other natural flavors, then cook this to a perfect crispness. Delicious. Crunchy. All-natural. No Cholesterol.

Sesame - An Almondina® cookie with an exotic twist. The roasted sesame adds a flavor that magically complements the almonds and raisins for a truly irresistible taste.

Gingerspice - Zesty chunks of flavorful real ginger give this cookie a real kick. The sweet, chewy pieces of ginger add an exciting flavor dimension to this crunchy cookie.

Almonduo - A double nut wonder with roasted almonds and pistachios. For anyone who loves nuts, this is the cookie for you. Top quality almonds and pistachios are showcased in our thin, crunchy Almondina® cookie.

CinnaromaThe Original for cinnamon lovers. Almonds, raisins, and cinnamon just seem to be made to go together - so we combined them in our Cinnaroma cookie. These make a wonderful snack, but we like them best on a Sunday morning with tea of coffee.

Choconut The world's finest chocolate in a delicious crunchy cookie. If you are a chocolate lover, then this is the cookie for you! We took the Almondina cookie recipe and added some of the best chocolate in the world. The result is a delicious, chocolaty, crunchy cookie that is still low in calories. No wonder it is a bestseller.

Chocolate CherryFor chocolate lovers everywhere. We combined the world's finest dark chocolate with plump cherries to produce an irresistible, decadent treat without guilt.

I was so excited about trying these that I dug into them the moment the package made it to my doorstep. It's a good thing these are healthy, because I definitely ended up eating quite a few of them. Almondina cookies have between 99 and 137 calories (depending on the flavor) per serving. They have a crunch like a crouton and are all-natural with no Cholesterol. They also have no coloring or preservatives and no added fat or salt. They are thin and crispy, which makes them ideal for dipping in coffee or tea. They are sweet, but not too sweet and each cookie is packed with tasty fruits, nuts, and more! You'll have to try them to understand just how delicious these are. I have to warn you that you'll most likely become addicted to these amazing cookies but, because the ingredients are nutritious, you can consume them without a guilty conscience.

The Cinnaroma was my favorite cookie by far! Cinnaroma has a hint of cinnamon paired with crunchy almonds and sweet raisins. Every morning I'd have a few of these with my coffee and it has become a new routine for me. The perfect light snack in the morning to get my day started.

Of course, both of my children decided to take over the Choconut and Chocolate Cherry flavors. They ended up eating both packages within a few days. My oldest child thinks I'm the best mom in the world for allowing her to eat cookies everyday. Little does she know how good these are for her. I was able to sneak one of each of the chocolate flavors while the kids weren't looking and was blown away with how great they were. Each had a light chocolate flavoring. I was expecting the cherries in the Chocolate Cherry flavor to be dry but, surprisingly, they were chewy.

Almonduo was a cookie made for nut lovers. I personally loved the combination of almonds and pistachios. I keep a few Almonduo cookies in my purse while I'm out running errands just in case I get hungry since they are so filling after just one serving!

While I was taste testing the Gingerspice flavor, I wasn't expecting real pieces of ginger in this cookie. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find the chewy little pieces throughout. (FYI-Since ginger is good at settling a nauseous tummy, I bet these would be super helpful to some of our early pregnant readers.)

The Original has a good balance of sweet raisins and crunch almonds. I got the idea late one night to pair this one with some peanut butter and it was so amazing! This is now my go-to midnight snack cookie.

Out of all of the flavors, Sesame had the most crunch. With the roasted sesame seeds in this cookie, it tasted more like a thick, lightly sweetened chip. It was my least favorite flavor of the Almondina cookies because I'm not a lover of Sesame seeds. With that being said, my toddler really loved the Sesame and he definitely made sure that package of cookies belonged to him.
