FabKids September Box Review

Thanks to Fab Kids for the outfit to help with this review

FabKids was founded to empower boys and girls to express their individuality through personalized outfits while revolutionizing the shopping experience for moms and dads by delivering high-quality, reasonably priced, fresh style in just ‘one-click.’

Fall is fast approaching here in Indiana, and with that comes the task of purchasing better suited clothes for the new weather. While we have four children and can pass down clothing as the girls' age, our oldest daughter Madison is always in need of clothes as she ages. I was so happy to work with FabKids because the thought of a full outfit for $30, shipped right to your door once a month was so appealing to me. After signing up and looking around on their website, I decided to contact them in hopes of a review before deciding to purchase this subscription every month for our girls. For September I chose the look below for Madison, our bubbly (almost) 7 year old.

Madison's style and personality are both very much like this outfit. She loves anything pink, hearts, sparkly, and frills/dresses. When I saw this outfit on the FabKids website, I knew right away it would be perfect for her. With the weather currently in the 60's, I was glad to see long sleeve options already, and I was happy with the matching leggings because no matter the temperature she would be comfortable. When she saw the outfit come in the mail, she was so happy about the giant heart on the front full of sequins, and that it's another dress to add to her collection.

This outfit came the weekend before school pictures, so we decided since she loved it so much, she'd wear it for the first time for pictures. As you can see above, it was a big windy that morning, and at 8am it was in the low 50's. While she said she was cold during photos, she did say she was glad she had long sleeves on her dress, and that to me was a huge thumbs up for the outfit.

I decided to get a size Medium for this outfit, which fits kids roughly 6/7 in size. She'll be 7 next month and weighs 47lbs currently, so she's on the petite side. Even though she can wear some shorts/pants in a size 5 because waist, these leggings fit her so well and she never complained of them falling off or being too big. I was thrilled to see that the dress hit her right at the knees since she's tall, and while I won't dry it to avoid any shrinking, I'm glad she'll get plenty of wear until cold weather hits full time and jeans are needed.

Since McKenzie is 5yrs old, she will indeed be able to wear this outfit come Spring, and possibly even next Fall. I really like how thick and durable the clothes feel without being too heavy and hot. Since we do have so many girls, it'll be nice to have some great pieces to pass down as they all age, and I have faith that this outfit will indeed hold up through several children.

This Varsity Ruffle Dress comes in sizes XXS-XL. XXS is 2T-3T starting at 30lbs, and the XL size is 11-12yrs and up to about 94lbs. While the Soft Blue Leggings are a great feature to this dress, they are the same sizes in the chart they offer. I feel this outfit is a true to size so far, and I love that they offer such a wide variety in sizes for boys and girls. Because of this, I think it would be great for families like us where we have three children in their size range, and we could alternate months of who gets a new outfit, and even in a couple years, be able to match all four girls!
