Thanks to Green Toys for the items to help with this review
As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!
Green Toys Inc. makes an awesome line of classic children’s toys constructed from recycled plastic and other environmentally friendly materials. This helps reduce fossil fuel use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improving the overall health and happiness of the planet.
I wasn't sure what Green Toys would send us, but after working with them back in May 2013 on a review, I knew whatever they sent, it would be a great product. We received the Stove Top first in Teal, and then next came the Cookware and Dining Set because we had no current accessories to go with the Stove Top piece.
The Stove Top is a durable, dual-burner cook top with three dials on the front that rotate 360 degrees and click as they spin around. Sized for use with other Green Toys kitchen play sets, the Stove Top is made in the USA from 100% recycled plastic milk jugs that save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. No BPA, phthalates, or PVC. Meets FDA food contact standards, and dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Packaged with recyclable materials and printed with soy ink.
I was a little taken aback by the thought of a Stove Top. At first I wondered how well it may be played with, but then the thought crossed my mind about all the good things that come from this product. It's something that can easily fit in a toy box, doesn't take up a whole area of space like a normal play kitchen, it can be moved quickly from room to room, and it's easy to play with on the floor making it fun for all ages. Since our youngest is just 10 months old, this would be a lot easier for her to enjoy with her sisters instead of trying to pull up to a play kitchen and possibly even pulling it over on to herself causing injury. Overall I think come Christmas, this will be a huge hit for Macyn who will be three years old in February, and it'll give them all something fun to do on these cold Winter days.
I was thrilled when I opened the box to see such a great set of kitchen toy accessories. Since we had long gotten rid of the play kitchen and items that go with it, I was glad to see that the girls would have a big set to play with. Since we have four little girls, this 27 piece set is the perfect size for them. With having four sets of silverware, plates, bowls, and cups they're all able to play together and join in on the fun while someone takes turns cooking in the adorable pot and skillet. This too is set back for Macyn as a Christmas gift and just like the Stove Top, it'll be a huge hit on the big day, and especially during the Winter break when we're all stuck inside from the cold.
To purchase both items together, you're looking at a price of $65. That sound very high compared to what you can find at a local Wal-Mart perhaps, but with the great quality of these toys, they're going to last a whole lot longer than the cheapies you'll find in a normal outlet store. Since they're recycled and BPA free, that bumps up the price as well, but with today's world, it doesn't hurt to purchase recycled items whenever we can and help preserve this world for our children and future grandchildren.
I think with Macyn's birthday coming up, I'd like to purchase some food accessories from Green Toys to further complete this set we now have. I love the Sandwich Shop set and the Salad Set. I'm glad they're bigger pieces and not tiny little french fries or cardboard drink boxes that get torn up within the first week!
