Piggy Paint: Kids Nail Polish Review *Holiday Gift Guide*

Thanks Piggy Paint for the review item to help with this post

As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!
Piggy Paint was born after the creator dropped some kids polish on a foam plate and the polish ate through to make a hole. The difference was solvent based polishes vs water based and Piggy Paint was on its way to creation to ensure the safest polish available for children.

Having four little girls in our home means we have a huge supply of polish. Until our kids reach a certain age, I don't like painting their finger nails with normal polish because of possibly eating it and getting the chemicals in their mouth, but Piggy Paint draws you in because they solve this dilemma!

Piggy Paint is specially formulated from God’s natural ingredients and dries to a hard, durable finish. There are no toxic chemicals; it’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone. The Piggy Paint Ingredients are water, acrylates copolymer, neem oil.  The botles may contain the following colorants (depending on shade):  Red 34 Lake, ultramarines, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, mica, red 28, yellow 10, violet 2, zinc sulfide/copper, copper flake, orange 5, and red 22.

This past weekend my husband had to go out of town for work, so I spent the weekend with our girls and had a fun day of manicures and girl time.

Along with the new "Show Stopper Gift Set", we also received their new blue shade of "Bubble Trouble" and their base/clear coat polish. Since we have four girls, my plan was to use the fourth shade on our baby's toes, but I ended up getting in on the fun and put it on my own hands since she was napping.

Since Piggy Paint polish is natural, it takes longer to harden to maximum capacity, so its suggested after washing and drying your hands to let them air dry for about 60 seconds and then seal with a hair dryer. When applying the extra heat, it speeds up the hardening process and helps you achieve a longer lasting manicure, as well as applying a top coat after applying the polish layers.

Each of the girls chose their own colors and they didn't fight over some one else getting the color they wanted. They all wanted pink, but with three shades to choose from, everyone was happy and loved the color they chose.

I really like the pale pink for Macyn since she's two years old and a toddler. It's subtle on her and fits her well. She sucks her thumb and this is only the second time I've painted her finger nails. The first time I didn't paint her thumb at all, but I did use Piggy Paint as you can see above since its natural. It didn't stay on that thumb long because she almost immediately put it in her mouth, but all I could do was chuckle and be thankful its not full of chemicals.

McKenzie is 5 1/2 years old and chose the pink that could also resemble a raspberry shade or even a hint of purple. She loves purples so her pick didn't surprise me in the least. She can wear darker colors well and was a great choice.

Madison is almost 7yrs old and wears anything pink she can. From clothes to accessories, the pinker the better in her eyes! With this bubbly bright pink on the bottom left above, it again fits her personality well and looks stunning with her longer than normal kid nails. I will say that she did her chore of dishes about five hours later and a lot of the polish came off. I didn't choose to do the blow dryer because it does dry fast, but now I see why its such an important step to take.

I was left with their new blue shade, and while I don't normally wear blue, it was a fun change. It does remind me of a blue type water shade, but not my favorite color in the bunch.

Individual colors retail for $8.99, 2 pack gift sets are $14.99, and 3 pack sets are $24.99. They also offer polish remover, pedicure sets, nail decals, polish pouches, and even dog polish! You can purchase online via their website, or use their Retailer locator to see if local stores carry selections you can see in person.
