Thanks to Halo for the items to help with this review
Our founder Bill Schmid and his wife lost their first born to SIDS. From this tragedy, HALO and its mission were born. For over 15 years we've been educating parents about safe sleep practices and a portion of every sale goes to First Candle/SIDS Alliance and The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths. Since 2005, the American Academy of Pediatrics has suggested the use of wearable blankets. Today, HALO SleepSack wearable blankets are the #1 trusted choice of hospitals, and are used nationwide to help babies sleep safely from the start.
HALO Innovations is dedicated to putting the health, safety and well-being of babies first. In fact, over 1,200 hospitals use our HALO® SleepSack® wearable blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. This summer we launched our new bassinet, the HALO™ Bassinest™ Swivel Sleeper, furthering our commitment to helping babies sleep safely.
As your child grows from baby to toddler, HALO Innovations offers the SleepSack Early Walker and SleepSack Big Kids. HALO SleepSacks for toddlers offer your child the warmth and security of a SleepSack so he can fall asleep fast and sleep soundly throughout the night as well as unique foot openings for more mobility when awake.
As your child grows from baby to toddler, did you know he or she can transition to HALO SleepSack Early Walker and SleepSack Big Kids?
HALO SleepSack Early Walker and SleepSack Big Kids offer your child the warmth and security of a SleepSack as well as unique foot openings for more mobility when awake. Bedtime routines are important for your child and these SleepSack wearable blankets provide that secure feeling they need to fall asleep fast and sleep soundly throughout the night. Both items are available in Microfleece and a soft light weight knit fabric.
I've used HALO's products for several years, first starting with our local hospital handing them out to new parents. Since my first introduction seven years ago, I've learned so much more about safer ways to protect my children, and HALO has been my #1 favorite product in my home.
I've posted several reviews over time from HALO, and I'm happy to talk about their Early Walkers. I chose a size Large, which starts at 22lbs, and I thought Mya would fit well in this size. Once it was on and she stood up, I realized she's very short for her age because it was too long for her.
Looking back, yes I probably should've gotten a size Medium, but I went by weight vs length when choosing a size. I still use her SleepSack's all the time and she loves them. I like knowing she can stay warm in our up and down weather, but isn't covered in blankets to do so.
I feel confident in knowing that once these Early Walkers can fit her better, they will be such a huge help for her. In the mornings, we come down stairs, she has a bottle, and I leave her in her sack while I make her siblings breakfast. Sometimes she gets up and tries walking in the sack, and while she can do it, she doesn't get very far. I know in the next month or so having Early Walkers will benefit us very much, and then I can pass on the sacks to friends with babies to keep their children safe as well.
Early Walkers have foot openings for mobility when awake, room to tuck in feet at night, they unzip from the bottom for easy diaper changes, and the generous sack design allows room for kicking, but cannot be kicked off so baby stays warm all night. My favorite part is that they're all machine washable with like colors so I don't have to wash them separate, and they come out looking just as great as when they arrive brand new! These retail for $26.95 on the HALO website, and you can also purchase via Amazon, Babies R Us, and Target.
