Accessories for Cameras: Shutter Huggers Review

Thank you Shutter Huggers for the items to help this review

As mothers and photographers we have spent many hours chasing small children around trying to capture the perfect picture.  We have sung silly songs, made random animal noises, and promised all kinds of fantastic prizes in an attempt to get kids to look at us and smile.  After making our first Shutter Hugger and seeing how much time and energy it saved us during photo shoots, we knew we had to share these cute little guys with other parents and photographers.

As a mother to four children, I have had my fair experience with photos. Always making noises or waving toys, it's almost impossible to get all our daughters to look at the camera at the same time and smile! When I found the Shutter Huggers website, I was excited about their products, and eager to work together in hopes of a solution for better photo taking.

As soon as the package arrived and I opened it, I fell in love. I chose giraffes because they're cute and pretty neutral for our girls. I was anxious to see how well they fit on my devices and to start using them. The bigger one for the camera has a stretchy belly area to adjust to different sizes of cameras, and then the mini version is covering a clip so it slides right on top of your phone.

Getting Nailed! Week 7

This is NOT a review/sponsored post

Welcome to Week 7 of Getting Nailed! I did an intro post where I explained my goal in posting these every other week and how you can submit your photo to be featured. Check out the post if you need to refresh your memory. I'll be sharing photos of my own nails as I get them done every two weeks, photos of neat ideas I've found online, and the occasional viewer submission when they come in.

I did a blog review with Pretty Please Polish back in April and I knew from that review I would purchase from this company. After announcing new colors, the wait was on until they were revealed so I could see them and make my first purchase.

#ThirdTimesaCharm Giveaway Hop. Ends 7/7

Hello and thanks for checking out the Third Time's a Charm event hosted by First Time Mom and Zephyr Hill! We've come together as veteran moms to bring you what we feel are some of the best maternity and baby products out there. Each participating blog has a maternity and/or baby themed prize that's at least worth $25. Hop around from blog to blog by using the linky in this post and see what must-have maternity and baby product each blogger thinks you should have! Don't forget to enter to win the grand prize...there are two prize packages - a Maternity Package and a Baby Package

For this giveaway Mama's Baby Cupcakes has two prizes up for grabs to one lucky winner.

I chose Intelligender because we all know that once we find out we're expecting we can't help but wonder about the gender. Since gender can't be known until 16-20 weeks, Intelligender is a fun Gender Prediction Test that you can take as early as 10 weeks to get a peak in to what you're possibly having. I've taken two tests with two pregnancies and one was right and one was wrong. My co-blogger Lakeon tested with her son and it was correct, as was my friend's review test with her son. I currently have two friends reviewing these tests and one just found out at 16 weeks after two little girls that they're welcoming a boy in to their family and after taking TWO tests, both saying boy, she believes in this product more than ever now. Especially since it was right with her second daughter.

Spark of Amber is another fun item I decided to share because teething is a big battle for babies starting around 4 months in to toddler-hood. Baltic Amber is a fossilized resin. Europeans greatly prize this beautiful stone for its claimed 100% natural anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, and calming properties. The healing oils of the Baltic Amber are said to relieve teething pain, tame baby’s irritability and relieve inflammation in the throat, ear, and stomach. The calming properties of Baltic Amber may go a long way towards a calmer, happier child. I love our necklace and our youngest Mya has had her's for 3 months. I feel as though it makes for a happier baby, so why not share this magical product?!

Open to US only
One winner to receive BOTH items
Total retail value for both combined is $50

Teething Necklace: Spark of Amber Review

Thank you Spark of Amber for the necklace to help with this review

We sell authentic, stunning natural Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces and bracelets. We also sell calming Baltic Amber earrings, pendants, bracelets, anklets, and rings from SparkofAmber. Only purchase from the best! At, we bring you the best Amber from Lithuania and the Baltic region!

Lakeon first reviewed with Spark of Amber back in September with her son Brantley, and besides her review, I'd heard more and more praise about teething necklaces. I didn't use them with our three older girls, but it was a thought I had when Mya was old enough to possibly try one. Skip to March 2014 and one day I woke up to a different baby then what I'd previously known because Mya was officially teething.

In the blink of an eye I had a grouchy clingy baby, and with three other children to tend to, I was in a whirl wind off chaos. I immediately emailed Spark of Amber to see if she'd be willing to work together and she said yes and got my Royal Buttery White teething necklace to me quickly.

Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers #sponsored

“I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Huggies. I received product samples to facilitate my review and to thank me for my participation.”

Our third daughter is now two years old and in no hurry to potty train. Getting her sit still to change a diaper is a quite a task since she's always on the go, but thanks to Huggies Little Movers Slip On Diapers, challenging diaper changes are a thing of the past!

Macyn is 2yrs 4months in age and 26lbs. She's constantly on the go and wanting to do everything her big sisters do, so when its time for a diaper change, she doesn't want to sit still or even come to me. While we use Huggies diapers anyway, I always wondered about the Slip-On diapers.

There are some nice features to the Huggies Little Movers Slip-On diapers. One of my favorite parts of these diapers is that they simply slip on and off. With the pre-fastened sides this means you don't have to struggle to get a good fit for your child because it's already done for you. The diapers don't leave read marks from being on too tight, and Leak Lock Protection along with long lasting core locks in wetness and keeps your child dry in-between changes.

Summer Cloth Giveaway Hop! Ends 6/30

Welcome to the 3rd annual Summer Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop hosted by Heather from Mommy's Favorite Things and Mama's Baby Cupcakes. After visiting my giveaway, make sure you use the linky below to take a look at the other 20+ blogs and see what they have to offer for you and your little one! Here at Mama's Baby Cupcakes, our giveaway is for one t-shirt and matching Zookaboo One Sized Cover in winner's choice of print/closure. Michele's One Size covers fit 13-19" rise (10-35lbs.)

Michele, a former school teacher, is a stay at home mother of two and started her company after wanting something fun to do in her spare time with at home with the kiddos. Cloth diaper covers seemed to be the obvious choice since her family used cloth, and thus Zookaboo was formed!

ModKini & $150 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway ends 6/26

Welcome to the ModKini & $150 Amazon gift card giveaway, sponsored by ModKini and hosted by Thrifty Nifty Mommy and Viva Veltoro.
ModKini is a brand new, patent pending swimwear attachment that transforms a bikini into a tankini in just minutes. With ModKini, a woman can customize her swimsuit for a better fit, more coverage, flexibility, different styles, and options. The ModKini is easy to attach and detach, allowing you to use it with all of your bikinis. This summer, let the ModKini help you feel more comfortable for the swimsuit season! Current Swimsuit Options:
  • One piece swimsuits are gravity grabbers. Pulling down "the girls”, losing our waist and womanly shape. Bra style tops now help alleviate that issue, only leaving you to struggle with the length in hopes of avoiding a wedgy or saggy look. Even if you are lucky enough to find (and can afford) a flattering and stylish one piece bathing suit, then there is the issue of taking off a wet one piece bathing suit to go to the bathroom.
  • Tankinis offer more options, yet most women have significant size differences between their breasts and their waist. The challenge with a tankini is you get one size top meant to fit both areas. Many people find a tankini that fits their midsection, only to then discover that the the top is not the right size which results in less support. If you find a tankini where the top fits correctly, then inevitably the midsection would either be too loose and float up in the water or too tight and rise up with any movement, causing you to constantly pull down on the tankini. Whether “the girls” are natural, enhanced (temporarily from pregnancy or breast feeding or surgically), or reduced (surgically or the first thing to go when losing weight) there always remains that struggle to find a tankini that fits correctly and will be flattering in both areas.
  • Bikinis offer the support we all want. They fit better because you can buy the top and bottom separately. They usually cost less and have more options than we want to take the time to count. They do not, however, provide the coverage some of us are looking for, which leads to some women throwing a tank top over their bikini for coverage.

Mya Update: 6 Months Old

Photo taken mid April

While you've seen Mya in review photos, my last official update was when she turned 3 months old. Now that she turned 6 months yesterday, that means another update! I feel like time has really flown by and its hard to believe she's already half a year old!

In these last 3 months Mya has learned to roll over both ways, learned to say Da-Da, and FINALLY sleeps in a spot other than her swing (which she broke from being in it all the time). It was hard to get her on a good schedule with McKenzie going to Pre-K, but now that Summer is here, we quickly got her used to sleeping in our co-sleeper and she naps for a couple hours and then sleeps about 10 hours each night.

She really loves baby oatmeal and while we've tried different baby foods, she isn't too fond of them, so while I'd prefer her eat something other than oatmeal, I'm following her lead and just seeing where she wants to go. She is interested in table foods but gags on them so I feel in a month or so she'll be more ready and we'll explore table food more.

She had her 6 month check up today and weighs 15.8lbs and 26 inches long!

Dads, Grads & Everyone in Between Giveaway Hop! Ends 6/19

Welcome to the Dads, Grads, & Everyone in Between Giveaway Hop, hosted by the Blogging Mamas Network! It's the beginning of Summer and a time when we're celebrating Dads and Grads, but in this Hop we're not leaving anyone out! Hop around to all the bloggers participating in the linky at the bottom of this post to enter awesome giveaways worth at least $25!

Recently I've posted both reviews for the items we're now giving away and I'm excited for my readers to get these fun products. One winner will receive all items in the above photo so it's a little something for everyone!

First up is the Rejuvenator Microbubble Shower head which retails on their website for $109.

With the use of Microbubble Technology™ the Rejuvenator shower head provides a deep cleaning of the skin even without the use of soap. Microbubbles have been known to accelerate the healing of numerous skin afflictions, including dry skin, oily skin, even eczema. As well as skin improvement, Microbubbles have also been believed to increase hair texture and volume as well as promote new hair growth. Another reason is that the Microbubbles carry oxygen and a high concentration of negative ions. These negative ions actually provide a natural spring like effect, which cleans the air, elevates endorphin levels, and actually prompts fatigue recovery. If that weren’t enough the Rejuvenator also uses less water then traditional shower heads.

You can see my full review for more information on this product and how I think its helped me in the several weeks I've been using it. It's easy to attach and sturdy when in use, so well worth the money!

Next up is the three National Geographics for Kids books. Their retail value all together on their website is $41 and is full of fun interactive pictures and puzzles. You can learn about the world with the great Atlas, have a big to do list with 100 Things to do before you Grow Up, and great photos and hidden puzzles in the What in the World? book! I posted my full review with pictures last week, and I encourage you to head on over and learn more about them!

Open to US only
Total retail value for all items: $150

Rejuvenator Microbubble Shower-head Review

Thank you Rejuvenator for the shower head to help with this review

I was pretty darn excited when this review email came in. We've lived in our house for just over three years now, and ever since we built it I've wanted to change the shower head in our master bath. We've looked several times and stores for shower heads, but it's all overwhelming. There's so many to choose from, so many different options each one can do, and then the sticker price played a big factor in trying to figure out which option was best. This shower head is something similar to what I've been wanting, so it was a perfect review opportunity and I'm excited to tell you all about the Rejuvenator Microbubble Shower head.
