FabKids December Box Review

Thanks to Fab Kids for the outfit to help with this review

FabKids was founded to empower boys and girls to express their individuality through personalized outfits while revolutionizing the shopping experience for moms and dads by delivering high-quality, reasonably priced, fresh style in just ‘one-click.'

While we have four children and can pass down clothing as the girls' age, our oldest daughter Madison is always in need of clothes as she ages. I was so happy to work with FabKids because the thought of a full outfit for $30, shipped right to your door once a month was so appealing to me. For December I chose the look above for Madison because it is cute, casual, and comfortable for her long days at school. While the jeggings appear to be a capri type style on the model, we've had an unusually "warm" December, and then I knew they would still fit come Spring time.

SuperME Kids Backpacks Review

Big thanks to SuperME for offering products to review

SuperME was developed by designer Daphne Kaufer. The inspiration for SuperME came from her own children- Adam and Anna, who love dressing up and playing superheroes. Daphne wanted to create a line of functional superhero inspired products that are fun to play with and reflected the uniqueness of each child in a meaningful and sustainable way.

I'd heard of SuperME a couple times, and then when I started watching NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura featuring Debra Messing and saw them featured, I was interested once again. In early December I was approached to highlight this company on the blog, so I put them back as gifts for the girls at Christmas, and anxiously awaited the day they'd see them.

Last Minute BIG Trend Christmas Toys

Pooped out from holiday shopping? Don't know what to get that little stinker on your list?

How about a toy that poops?!  Yes, you read that correctly.  Pooping toys are THE big trend this holiday season, and when it comes to pooping toys, we are the experts.  They may seem strange, but these toys will win your heart and keep all the kids on your gift list happy!
  • Lalaloopsy Diaper Surprise is a real charmer. (Literally) Each of these Lalaloopsy babies poops magical charms into reusable diapers! Just feed them water, press their belly “button,” and check their diaper for a surprise! Charms come in butterflies, hearts or flowers, and can be hooked onto the included charm bracelet. Ta-dah! A magical poop charm bracelet -- now that's a fashion statement! You can read my review for this toy HERE.
Tired of having the same boring doll pets?  Moxie Girlz Poopsy Pets  are anything but ordinary.  Kids can take them on an imaginative adventure complete with whimsical pets that poop -- so cute!  Kellan has a pet tiger who poops striped eggs, Lexa has an elephant that poops peanuts, and Avery has a pet panda who poops bamboo shoots!  It's a great way to teach kids how to manage pet "clean up," with a laugh!
  • Now, you may be thinking,  "but what about the boys?"  Never fear, we've got one more treat that takes pooping toys to a whole new level. Our Little Tikes Big Dog Truck ride-on & walker is the coolest dog on the block! The Big Dog Truck comes with boulders that can be scooped up at the front of the truck when your toddler rides over them, and then dumped out the rear.  But don't just take our word for it -- The Big Dog Truck has been awarded Dr. Toy's  2014 Best Picks, Toy Talk Awards' Best Preschool Toy, and ToyTesters TV Gold Award for Best Preschool Toy.

Lalaloopsy live in a whimsical world full of silly surprises. With love and a little bit of imagination, you’ll see why Lalaloopsy are sew magical... and sew cute!

About a month ago our girls noticed a commercial for the new Lalaloopsy Newborn Babies and expressed their interest in wanting some for Christmas, but I forgot about them until I got the lucky email to review three for our girls. I was so excited for this opportunity and it'll be the perfect items for their stockings on Christmas Day!!

LivingPlug: Decorating your Outlets *Holiday Gift Guide*

Thanks to LivingPlug for the items to help post this review

As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!

Like most people, we didn't care much about the lowly electrical outlet. We didn't care until we heard just how many kids end up in the ER after sticking a hairpin in one (2,400 a year). Or when we redecorate and came face to face with just how ugly it is. Or when we read about how much electricity is drained by items we have plugged in, but are not actually using. We decided to do something about this most basic of basic utilities by creating a system that would solve these problems and bring a littler flair and added function to our homes.

Since we built and purchased our home April 2011, I love finding items to decorate our home with and to impress its over all look. When LivingPlug approached me for a review, I was thrilled to showcase their company on the blog, and to get my hands on a neat product.

Uncle John's For Kids Only Activity Books Review *Holiday Gift Guide*

Thanks to Uncle John's for the items to help post this review

As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!

It was 1987. Uncle John found himself stranded on his throne with nothing to read. That’s when he came up with the idea to launch a series of trivia books specifically tailored toward his fellow bathroom readers. Fast forward to 2002 and you have the Uncle John's For Kids Only series which is designed for young trivia fans, info-maniacs and reluctant readers.

Sometimes my kids are impatient to eat dinner. When our oldest two come home for school they eat a snack and then ask when dinner is because they never feel as though their snacks are big enough. I wanted to do this review because I felt these books would be great for passing time or while I'm making the plates and the kids are sitting at the table waiting for their food. Totally Quacked was an added bonus because our oldest is now seven years old and loves to read. Books fascinate her so I enjoy building a collection of different things she can read in her spare time.

Dealing with Children and Divorce?

*Sponsored Post*

While we're not currently in this situation, I know a lot of my readers are mothers with children. I wanted to share this mini post with you just in case any of my readers could use the advice.

There is no doubt that divorce is a hard situation to overcome and that adapting to a new lifestyle presents challenges, especially for children. Divorce may be a situation they don't understand. It is most likely scary and confusing.

However, talking to children about divorce is vital and communicating can be a positive experience. These talks, while difficult, can lead to bonding, increased trust and an understanding that divorce is often the first step to a happier life. This guide can help you have the necessary discussions with your children:

Why I'm A Mom

“Why I’m a Mom” campaign via Mommy’s Bliss. I received products in exchange for sharing this video.

I've seen this video floating around Social Media. I encourage you to watch!

I never expected I would become a mother seven days after turning nineteen. When I was younger, I didn't know what to expect my future to be like, but after meeting my husband at the age of fifteen, we started our family young with expanding three years later.

Fast forward to our youngest daughter turning one year old last week, and I'm amazed at how time flies by. From the first steps, to the first day of school, it's over in the blink of an eye. I've always wished we could have cameras in our eyes to record the perfect memories or snap shots of the perfectly cute things our kids do, because it goes by so quickly.

Being a mother/parent is tough! I'm not gonna lie about that. There are times I loose my cool, times I want to run to a corner and cry, and times that I feel like I could use a week long vacation from life and just get away from it all. But even with all those mixed emotions, when I hear one of my girls call me mommy, ask me to hold them when they're sick, hit a milestone like walking, or our newest adventure of a loose tooth, I know being a mother is why I'm here. Being their mother, is why I'm here. I'm here to guide them, love them, and make them in to amazing children and eventually adults.

Mya's Girls Party Kit Chevron 1st Birthday Party!

Birthday in a Box provided the kit for her theme.
The shirt I showcase from Zoey's Attic Personalized Gifts was a purchase I made and wanted to also share

I've known since Mya was only a couple months old that I wanted her 1st birthday party to have a chevron theme. I hadn't found "the one" until looking around on the Birthday In A Box website. When I found the Chevron Deluxe Kit for only $20, I was blown away. Not only was it a great price if the review didn't work out, but I loved the rainbow theme with a variety of colors, and it reminded me of Mya and her personality.

I did do some looking around in the Girls Party Ideas just in case I found something better, but since I normally go with my gut, Chevron was my final choice and the shipment was on its way!

Win Seven bumGenius 4.0 cloth diapers! Ends 12/26

Welcome to the bumGenius 4.0 Giveaway, sponsored by Cotton Babies and hosted by Thrifty Nifty Mommy & Viva Veltoro!

Cloth diapers have come a LOOOOOONG way over the last few decades. Pins and prefolds are a thing of the past. If you don’t believe it, check out bumGenius 4.0 One-Size Cloth Diapers! bumGenius 4.0 is a reusable diaper that is just as easy to use as disposables (except it's way better for the environment — and your wallet). From its “stretchy, butterfly tabs" that provide a comfortable, personalized fit to the trim pocket design, bumGenius 4.0 is a practical option for anyone — especially those who may be resistant to cloth.

One of the great things about bumGenius is that you have options. With exclusive colors and prints to the closures and absorbency, YOU can customize your diapers to meet your needs.
  • Durable snap closures help keep diapers on. This is quite helpful when it comes to little fingers figuring out how to take off a diaper!
  • Easily replaceable elastic keeps your diapers fresh and secure.
  • Waterproof insert stopper* prevents leaking at the tummy.
  • Diapers are bundled with two inserts: a newborn insert for smaller babies and a one-size insert for growing baby.
  • Wide slot opening makes it easy to stuff and remove insert.
  • Slot cover* protects your baby from wetness.

The bumGenius 4.0 is a one-size diaper, meaning it fits most babies from birth to potty training (7-35 lbs). It includes a 3×3 snap down setting so you can adjust it to a small, medium or large size.

bumGenius has the best warranty in the industry. The workmanship of its products is backed for one year after purchase.
