PBS Kids: Four DVD + Puzzle Sets Review

Thanks to PBS Kids for the copies of DVDs to review

On January 13, PBS Distribution released four kids DVDs, each of which comes with a bonus 12 piece puzzle! Featuring fun-filled educational adventures, as well as a puzzle, these titles are a great value at just $6.99 each!

Our third daughter Macyn just turned three years old, and I held these back as a birthday gift. She loves PBS and many of the shows they feature, including these four shows above. Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is her favorite program, and it was a great coincidence that her party theme was also Daniel!

Caillou: Caillou’s Garden Adventures DVD + Puzzle
In “Caillou’s Garden Adventures DVD + Puzzle” join Caillou as he explores the outdoors and learns how much fun it can be to take care of the environment. Take a hike with Caillou and Grandpa to Blueberry Point or join Daddy and Grandma in the garden while they plant a tree and teach Caillou about the magic of composting. This DVD includes six stories and has a run time of approximately 50 minutes.
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Welcome to the Neighborhood DVD + Puzzle”
The first TV series inspired by the iconic, award-winning MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world. As they closely follow and share Daniel’s everyday adventures, preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families learn the fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. This DVD has a run time of approximately 50 minutes and features three grr-ific adventures – “Daniel’s Birthday,” “Daniel’s Picnic,” and “Neighbor Day.”
Dinosaur Train: Eggstravaganza DVD + Puzzle
“Dinosaur Train” embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains, while encouraging basic scientific thinking skills. This DVD features eight dino-mite adventures including “The Egg Stealer?,” where Buddy and Don stumble upon a mystery when they find unhatched eggs on their beach, and “Hatching Party,” where Buddy, Tiny and Mrs. Pteranodon ride the Dinosaur Train to attend an egg hatching party! The run time of this DVD is approximately 100 minutes.

Super Why: Jack and the Beanstalk DVD + Puzzle
“Super Why” is designed to help kids with the critical skills they need to learn to read. This imagination-stimulating series focuses on the adventures of four
fairytale friends who transform into reading-powered superheroes. The four fun-filled stories included on this DVD are “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “The Princess and the Pea,” “The Three Little Pigs,” and “Little Red Riding Hood.” The run time of the DVD is approximately 100 minutes.

All these DVDs are favorites in our home, and since we've started a collection of Daniel movies, this means I don't have to keep so many on our DVR for easy access. The puzzles were a bit tricky to get off the paper and not rip anything, but since they're 12 piece puzzles, they're thick and decent size for toddlers.

I think for $6.99 the price is well worth the purchase. All four sets are great for the PBS fan in your home, and you can shop online for these DVDs on the PBS website, Amazon, Walmart and more.
