I received products for free in exchange for a review. All thoughts/opinions are my own!
Watches are not just timekeepers; watches are statement pieces, watches speak to the style and personality of the wearer. JORD watches tell more than time.
My husband loves watches, but due to his career, a watch is something he rarely gets to wear. I've been a fan of Jord for a long time, so I was thrilled when I got the green light for a review with their company. I wanted my husband to have a nice piece to wear while off work, and enjoy the accessory instead of a cheap Walmart watch like he's always had in the past.
My husband really liked the look of this Sully Series Natural Green wood watch. He liked the big numbers, the fact that it had a second hand, the natural wood look, and the nice bold band.
Our Sully series marries complimentary and contrasting woods giving a vivid and varied tonal effect that can only be achieved when constructing a wood timepiece. The large face numbers and cut out bezel add playfulness to an otherwise classically styled timepiece.
The deployment buckle has a push button, it's made from scratch resistent material, and the band is 214mm long and 25mm thick. As you can see displayed on the back wood for the face, it's 100% natural wood and made in China.
Jord uses a variety of natural and sustainable sourced wood from across the globe. Some of the current series of watches feature bamboo, maple, sandalwood, black-wood, cherry, zebra-wood, koa, purple heart, ebony and rosewood. They also use stainless steel clasps to account for potential customers with metal allergies, and while they cannot guarantee a possible reaction, the fact that they take in to account for people's potential allergies is really great.
These wood watches are produced with all natural and untreated woods. This keeps them hypoallergenic and maintains the true finish of the wood. Because wood is inherently porous, it is prone to dirt and oil. For best cleaning results, mix two tablespoons each of olive oil and lemon juice. Apply a small amount to a soft cotton cloth. Wring the cloth to spread the mixture further into the material and apply to the wood using brisk strokes (this helps distribute the oil evenly).
Wood will naturally develop a patina over time but if you'd like to maintain the original appearance we recommend that you apply a natural coating such as beeswax, butcher block oil, or walnut oil. Regular application can help to protect it against damage and improve the durability of the wood while helping to maintain the moisture balance.
One more favorite thing my husband likes is the case the watch came in. The nice cushion pillow not only helps in transport through the mail, but when he's done wearing it for the day, he'll put it back in the box and tuck back in the drawer for safe keeping.
I encourage you to check out their full website for a variety of wood watches for men and women, available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. You can add links if you need it bigger, and all prices vary depending on which watch and little extras you may choose.
