Mantry for Men *Holiday Gift Guide*

I received products for free in exchange for a review. All thoughts/opinions are my own!

As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!
At Mantry, we believe in our artisan partners and the quality of their products. Some are small upstarts, fighting for a chance to change the way Tonic is seen. Some are award-wining restaurant Chefs who live on the vanguard of cuisine and culinary excellence. Each of them pours their heart and soul into their craft. Our monthly crate allows you to discover and eat 6 full-size, super premium foods from around America, with little commitment.

I was so excited to be able to review Mantry with my husband because this is something right up his alley! He is a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy and he is all about hearty snacks that taste great and make you feel full. Since each box is a surprise until it shows up at your door, I was anxious to see what awaited him, but as you can see above it was a nice variety of items that I knew he would actually use and like.

First let's talk about the items you see above. They included BBQ sauce from Hot Georgia Soul, Bittermilk Bourbon mix, bacon spread from Skillet, and then a log of smoked pepperoni from Vermont Smoke and Cure. My husband isn't much of a stiff drink or mixed drink guy, but it's interesting to have around if he feels the want. He loves anything with bacon so the spread intrigued him because it's easier then cooking just to have a couple slices on a sandwich when in the mood for the bacon taste, and I knew he would like the log because he likes all kinds of meats and I knew it would be a great weekend snack when he tends to munch and snack a lot. The BBQ sauce was a no brainer because we're always buying different sauces with different flavors trying to find something that he loves and can stick with.

I immediately wanted to cook with the BBQ sauce thinking it would be a great flavor to add to meat, but it didn't' stay on well while cooked. After realizing it is truly just a dipping sauce, I coated again when they were done and made everyone's plates to try it out. It is probably one of the best BBQ sauces I have ever tasted and it can quickly become very addicting. I was sad I "wasted" some in a sense trying to cook with it because my husband and I started eating it with almost every meal and then we slowed down and he uses it for special occasions or when he wants a really great flavor with his food. He's mentioned a couple times how we need to look at pricing for it online so he can use it more because its a great taste of sweet and tangy.

These two snack foods were loved well by my husband and oldest daughter. While I did try to beef jerky and LOVED it, I wanted to leave it alone for my husband and he snacked on it a few days before it was gone. It was probably one of the softest beef jerky's I have ever had and the flavor on it was spectacular. I really like beef jerky but it can be quite expensive and addicting, but Chef's Cut takes it to a whole other level! The Halfpop chipotle BBQ weren't for my taste buds but it became a quick snack for my husband when he'd get home from work. A few times our oldest daughter would have some after school as well because she loved the flavors, and over all if you like BBQ then you'd like these. They're really small and you can eat a small handful at a time unlike chips or popables, but it lasted quite a while with the bag size and over all was something my husband enjoyed.

One of my favorite things about Mantry is that they send their items in a cute little wooden crate. I love when you're able to reuse packaging and such from companies, so this is in our garage for little knick knacks he has with his tools and small parts he wants to keep together.

Above you'll see that they offer a couple different ways to sign up. You can also purchase for yourself or have a "gift" option to send to a friend or family member. While $75 per month does seem high, I have looked up some of the companies in our box and one item alone is $20. Each month you get six full size products in each crate and it's all made in the USA. It's delivered directly to the door of whoever you ship to, so that's an added feature I like because there's nothing to remember to pick up! The bigger the subscription the lesser the over all price so if you can afford 12 months, it's well worth it in my opinion!
