Birds Eye Kids Veggies

Harvested and flash-frozen at their peak freshness, Birds Eye uses only the highest quality vegetables for all its products. From pure and simple vegetables, to mixed medleys, to easy-to-prepare vegetables in sauce, any cook can have a host of nutritious menu options just minutes away.

With having four children, we always run in to at least one of our girls not liking something on their plate. The problem with that is we end up cooking multiple things or the dislike rubs off on another child, so I was thrilled when I heard about Birds Eye and their Disney inspired veggie sides.

The Disney offerings by Birds Eye feature pastas in the shape of today’s favorite Disney characters including Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen; Lightning McQueen and Mater from Disney•Pixar’s Cars; and classic characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Varieties include: whole grain pasta and corn with a butter sauce, pasta and broccoli with a cheese sauce, pasta and peas with a parmesan cheese sauce, and pasta and carrots with a tomato sauce.

According to the State Of The Plate report, nine out of ten people in the United States do not get enough vegetables.  Through delicious, innovative products like these, Birds Eye is striving to increase vegetable consumption among families with convenient and flavorful veggie-filled options for every age group!

We make more home-made meals on the weekends when my husband is home so we took the time over a couple weeks to use these Birds Eye sides with our dinners to get a feel for each one and see how they were liked over all.

Besides having a tough time getting the pasta to cook correctly in our microwave, our girls over all enjoyed each side. While some may have still picked around the broccoli, it was fun asking them which character they wanted to try and telling them what was in each bag. While you can't tell that much that the noodles are shaped like characters, the packaging is fun and it will encourage your children to be curious about what they're eating.

You can find these products in stores of places like Wal-Mart and Meijer. Each bag is just a couple dollars each and can easily feed a family of 3-5 people.
