As we approach the upcoming Holiday season, Mama's Baby Cupcakes has teamed up with several companies we think would be a great fit to purchase/wear/give to others in the upcoming months. Thanks to each and every sponsor showcased in our Holiday Gift Guide, and if you see the cute button above then you know its Holiday approved!
I've always loved l.e.i. because of their fun fashion for kids and their affordable prices that follow. I remember wearing l.e.i. when I was school aged and now I'm able to dress my own children in the brand and know they're wearing something that will last!
While the selections sent to me were all based off our oldest girls' sizes, I was pleasantly surprised at what was sent. They sent two pair of over-alls and two pair of jeans, one for each of our school aged girls, and then one dress each for them as well. They also included three Junior sized sweaters but those will be put back or gifted at time goes on since they don't fit.
While I've never bought over-alls for my girls, I couldn't wait to see them on. I like how fashionable they look, how they're not the typical over-alls I think of from my childhood, and they just plain look like pants with straps, lol. The stars screamed McKenzie to me while the faded pair with leopard straps fit Madison's personality perfectly as well. The jeans are great because they're made to be rolled up if you'd like and they look better over all instead of just rolling up pants that are too long. I know this may not be a big deal to some, but with Madison's long legs and skinny waist, jeans are typically an issue for us over all when it comes to a good fit.
Looking at both photos side by side, I would say that I wish the over-all had about another inch of length to them. They can't be unrolled and I think it would better on my girls personally if they were longer. The jeans on the right fit great! Especially McKenzie in the light pair, her's aren't baggy and the length will rolled cuffs compliments her well. Madison has a dark pair and they are a little long even with the pants rolled up, but this is a good thing for her since her legs are so long. Both pairs of jeans have an adjustable waist which is a must on pretty much all jeans we own, but I don't have to use them as much as other brands which can lead to a bunched up waist line if needed tightening too much.
I wasn't aware that l.e.i. sold these cute sweater dresses until they came in the mail. While Madison is more girly and likes dresses over all, McKenzie will wear them on occasion, so I was excited that they could be matchy matchy. Since purple is McKenzie's favorite color, I opted to give her that dress since they're the same size, but I'm weary of anything white so the sleeves had me apprehensive at first. Personally the white clothing is just my own thing. I hate stains and try not to keep white to a minimum, however, she came home from school that first day wearing her dress and the sleeves were great. Since it's December, I like the over sized turtle neck because it's a pop of winter, keeps them that much warmer, but isn't tight around the neck making them feel like it's too small. I paired both dresses with black leggings and they were off to school for the day!
The only thing I'd really change about these sweater dresses is the white sleeves and higher pockets. I like the ombre look of the fabric, they're soft to the touch, and the girls can easily move around and play with no restrictions.
Last but not least are these oh so cute sweaters and red striped cardigan from the Junior section. The pink sweater is an over sized turtle neck, the black/grey sweater is a form fitting v-neck, and then the striped cardigan is over sized and warm. They're all sized small which means maybe next Winter Madison could fit in to one or two.
I love that you can find l.e.i. easily at Wal-Mart because it's one of our main stores we choose to shop at. While I mainly shop for shirts and jammies at Wal-Mart, I'll be on the look out more for deals and other clothing items knowing that I can find great long lasting jeans for under $10.
