abcmouse.com Now Featuring 1st Grade Curriculum

Big thanks to abcmouse.com for this product to review

ABCmouse.com is a global education initiative of Age of Learning, Inc. Our goal is to help children build a strong foundation for future academic success by providing a comprehensive and engaging online curriculum to greatly assist early learners to succeed in pre-k, kindergarten, and early elementary school programs.

ABCmouse.com is subscription-based, with no advertising, pop-up ads, or links to other sites. Children can learn and explore with their parents, or on their own (depending on age and ability), in a safe and secure online educational environment.

ABCmouse.com is all over TV with commercials, and while I'd seen them many times, I was hesitant at paying for the service until our oldest begged to purchase a subscription. We finally gave in over two years ago as school was coming to an end so our girls could still exercise their minds over summer break. After a couple months of paying for the subscription and seeing how much our girls loved the website, I reached out for a review with the company and received a one year subscription code to the site. Once Summer arrived and the girls were home full time, I took nap time for our younger girls as the time for our older girls to get on the computer and play on the website. They were always asking to get online and play, so I was happy to see that it wasn't going to waste. As most children do, once the newness of a toy or favorite show wears off, they don't seem to care anymore.

We ended up using ABCmouse.com until our 1yr plan was up and our girls loved the different worlds you go through as you get further along in the levels. I chose not to continue the subscription because our girls were aging out and our third daughter seemed a little young for the service at the time.

There's several levels to start you child out at and you can get your children started as little as two years old. I was so happy when they recently emailed me to say that they added a new level for First Grade and offered another subscription for us to check it out! With songs, coloring pages, counting, puzzles, and more there's a lot of variety and your child will fly right through the activities as they soak in the knowledge they're getting from this great website. Our older girls were especially thrilled to be able to play on the website again and even though our oldest is in second grade now, she still has a lot of fun running through the levels. Since our second oldest daughter is in First Grade, I find her on it all the time through our iPad. She loves the levels as well as messing around with her avatar and the cute things that come along with it.

While I feel like you should be allowed to have more then three children signed up at a time, I'll have to end up taking the older girls off when our younger kids can participate more. Macyn is four years old and plays from time to time, but she's not as interested yet as I'd like her to be. Next in line is Mya who recently turned two, and I think come this next school year I'll try to introduce her to it and see what she thinks.

You can connect with ABCmouse.com via their website, and if you purchase longer subscriptions then you get a discount. I love this website and what they're offering children so as long as your kids are in the age range for this program, it's more than worth it!
