My Baby’s Heartbeat Bear Review

Big thanks to My Baby's Heartbeat Bear for this product to review

Founded my a mother of three children and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, this company was put together to have a special keepsake for parents, grand parents, and even siblings as they await the arrival of a new precious baby.

Being as I'm on my fifth pregnancy, I was intrigued when I got the email to review this company, but at the same time wasn't sure how I felt about having one for little Maximus and not my other children. I immediately thought of a close friend who lost her little boy over the Summer during her fifth month of pregnancy, and I asked her if she'd like to have an animal in honor of her son Leighton.  Being so touched, she said yes and picked their adorable puppy as her piece to review.

The Puppy record-able stuffed animal kit includes a 10" soft fleece puppy and a heart-shaped recorder to capture your baby's heartbeat during an ultrasound. This puppy is perfect for snuggling and has a Velcro closure on the back so that you can insert the recording. There's also a little pouch inside with a drawstring to ensure the heart is secure inside, even if the Velcro comes undone.

Along with the adorable puppy, they have a nice little tag on the ear for you to write down all the information regarding when you recorded the heartbeat for your child. Since these can be done at any ultrasound, you can record whenever you want and have that specific moment in time remembered forever with the sound and the tag.

My friend's last moments of her son on any kind of machine is when they were in the hospital trying to save his life in utero. She asked her husband to put his phone up to the monitoring system to record his heartbeat and that is what they had to put on this keep sake. When she told me the story I was even more glad to be able to gift her this heartbeat bear because she can have something to physically hold, cuddle, and squish tight, all while listening to his last heartbeat sounds she captured.

All you need to do to record is ensure the record option is on, hold down the heart while it records, and then release and flip the recording switch for play back. While my video below is only a few seconds long, the heart records up to I believe 30 seconds at a time.

The heartbeat animals kits retail for $35 and come in adorable characters like giraffes, dogs, elephants, or even an octopus. They range in height depending on which animal you choose with some being 10" and some being 15"! They also offer smaller versions of the same animals for $29 called the heartbeat buddies kits. They're still cute and perfect for siblings awaiting the arrival of their little brother or sister!
