Snacking with Toddlers: Gerber Lil' Beanies

With having five children, snacks are always a must around our house! Trying to find things that all of our girls will eat can be a chore with so many different opinons, but recently we got to try out Gerber Lil' Beanies for Mya and I think we've found her 'go to' snack!

Gerber Lil' Beanies is made from navy beans which are the perfect ingredient for its mild-flavor and since they provide protein, its a wholesome choice for a recipe. They're not made with genetically engineered ingredients, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. With their smaller size, they're perfect finger food snacks for tiny toddler hands, and provide Protein, Fiber, and Vitamin E.

Since we have a large family, getting one on one time with my children can be difficult, but over the weekend I took some Mommy and Daughter time with Mya and we went to our local Kroger for grocery shopping and of course snacks! Living in a popular suburb of a big city, we have a wide variety of places to shop, but I really love our local Kroger store. It's close to our house which makes it convenient, but since we've lived in the area for years it's familiar and comfortable. I like walking in, knowing right where things are, and seeing familiar faces time and time again.

After a quick car ride to Kroger, we found ourselves walking around the store having a fun time and enjoying each other's company. Toddlers can be such fun, full of wonder and curiosity, but I'm frequently telling her no to foods and sugary drinks she's wanting off the shelves. I was glad when we got to the baby/toddler aisle and could finally let her pick out a healthy snack!

Even though the Gerber Lil' Beanies were stacked so neatly on the top shelf, she tried to reach for them anyway! Pushing for healthy snacks is so important to me, so she was quite thrilled when I handed her not one, but TWO cans of these. They come in two flavors, Original and White Cheddar & Broccoli, so of course getting both was a must!

For Mya and her age of 2 1/2, these Lil' Beanies snacks are perfect for her. Whether on the go running errands or at home, they're small for her hands, not messy, and nutritious while still having flavor. I think it's great they provided an Original flavor for children they may like to keep things simple, but the White Cheddar & Broccoli flavor is a great natural alternative for something with more flavor. All of my kids actually like these since they had to of course try them, but we keep them in a special spot for Mya to grab and go!

Since the packaging is nice and bright and showcases the snacks perfectly, Mya is able to easily decide which one she wants depending on her mood and I don't have to open anything up and show it to her for her to decide. Since they're recommended to eat within a week of opening for freshness, we've all snacked on them here and there and I definitely see purchasing more in the future. The small can is great for my purse diaper bag, and the lid stays on tight so no unexpected spills!

With the affordable price of $1.99 a can from Kroger, it's a total win win for parents and kids because they're easy on the wallet and great for the tummy!
