Bedtime For Batman

I was sent a book for review. All opinions are mine.

Helping children develop a love of reading and learning, no matter their ability level, is at the heart of what we do at Capstone. Our passion for creating inspired learning has made us the most trusted publisher of children’s books and digital solutions for libraries, classrooms, and consumers for 25 years. Capstone’s content comes in a variety of print and digital formats including board books, picture books, interactive books, apps, audio and databases. Whether print, online, or new, yet-to-be-discovered formats, Capstone provides children and young adults with the content they love.

When a dark night comes to the big city, one little super hero prepares for a great adventure . . . bedtime! He dons his pajama uniform, speeds upstairs, cleans up the nightly grime, and keeps watch from his towering bunk bed. Written by award-winning author Michael Dahl (Goodnight Baseball, Goodnight Football, and Goodnight Hockey) and illustrated by Ethen Beavers (DC Super Friends), this bedtime tale will have Batman fans, young and old, delighting in their nightly routines. Bedtime for Batman is the perfect way to say goodnight to your little Dark Knight.

When I was approached to review this book, I freaked out a little bit. My husband loved Batman as a kid, and now that we have our son Maximus, I know this is something he hopes he will love too. I thought this book would be great to prop up in his room and something special for Chris to read to Max when he's older, having something for them to bond over.

While there's only a handful of words per page, this book is so much more then I expected. The story is adorable, the illustration is amazing, and I love the simplicity of it over all. I have read this book to my girls to get their thoughts and they love the book as well going through the adventure with the boy as you read along.

The recommended age group for this book is 4-7, and while the words are simple, I would say 5+ if they want to read to themselves. The pages are thin so I would suggest being around the child when they're flipping through reading, but this 32 page book is sure to please!

This book can be purchased now, as it just became available two weeks ago, for the price of $15.95 on the Capstone website.
